Meet Your Artist

I am a wife of 19 years and mother of 3 that has always had a love for the beauty world and all the beautiful ways that it pushes the envelope.

In 2010, I transitioned my hair from relaxed to natural through trial, error, and YouTube 😏. My hair was relaxed at the ripe age of 4 years old, so all I knew was a fresh relaxer retouch every 4 to 6 weeks for roughly 30 years!

From the big chop to finding a regimen that worked with my busy lifestyle, I placed a lot of time and energy into learning and taking care of my natural hair. This created anxiety when going to the salon. I'd tried one natural hair stylist and lets just say that I did not have then best experience, so this pushed me even deeper into the beauty world.

I had become such an expert that I had begun helping my family and friends transition from relaxed to natural. This gave me a chance to learn and find beauty in all of the many curly textures, not just my own.

I worked Monday through Friday in Corporate America and had clients scheduled at my home or theirs the whole weekend basically for food and/or tips.

No matter how tired I was from my busy work week in the office, I would look forward to those weekend hair appointments! Finally, it clicked! I thought, "if I can love doing this for free, I can definitely make this a living." This all happened in 2014 and the rest is history!

I understand all too well the insecurities associated with hair. I frequently tell my clients that my salon is a safe, judgement free zone. I have been relaxed, natural, loc'd, relaxed again and now natural again (don't judge me either 😝). When it comes to hair, I have a Nike mentality, "Just Do It."

I also understand how hard it is to find a trusted stylist especially in the natural world. My daily goal is for every client that I come in contact with to not only look better, but to feel better.
