The secret to why my client's hair fades so well after 12 weeks is no accident! Find out more below. 🤩⬇️ . Let's start with the basics, first! . ♡ Cold water shampoo and rinse! We've all heard this before, but do you know why? ↪️ When hair is exposed to water, it changes physical properties. Simply put, Wet=Open, Dry=Closed(as it will get). . ♡ Avoiding exposure to sun or utilization of sun barriers. 🌞 ↪️ We all love the sun, but unfortunately, spf damages hair(of all sorts) and is extra noticeable with vivids. . ♡ Either avoiding chlorine or committing to rinsing with cold water before, putting in a leave-in, and tying it up. ↪️ As many of you know, I'm a mermaid as well! It's impossible for me to avoid the pool being landlocked, so I commit to the above steps and have found wigs to be very helpful! Though swim caps still take the win for most protection by far. 🧜🏻‍♀️ . ♡ Using good products that will not leave a silicone residue and will leave behind oils. ↪️ If you utilize products that have natural lubricants in them for the hair, it will leave it with that healthy, bouncy, shine. If you use products containing silicone or other unnaturally formulated compounds, it will have that "squeaky" clean feel. That means it has stripped your natural oils and the extra you were trying to remove, which means you'll strip color pigment, too. . Did you find these tips helpful? I don't know who needs to hear this today, but adding dimension to your hair can both add and fake fullness and depth in the hair!
The best part about this color is the maintenance! You can absolutely come in and keep it up, or grow it all the way out with only a trained eye noticing, and the highlights will fade to a pale yellow, which can be easily corrected with a good purple shampoo(like the Olaplex or Moroccanoil I'd have in stock!).
I love adding small lowlights and highlights to make my beautiful client's natural hair stand out!

I love dramatic shifts in color, even if they take some time to execute and keep healthy.
This is a project I've dedicated 5 services to, and at this time, she'll have very little pigment coming through in-between base touch-ups since she isn't fully this grey.
