There is no age restriction on stylish hair! Despite not having done color for years, I had an amazing time with my mom as she experienced her first bright vivid color. I adore vivid colors for my hair, so I'm thrilled to have brought my mom into the world of bold hair colors. We're now ready for our cruise!

Guys, I need to rant for a second and if you’ve been here a while, you know this isn’t something I do. In 7 years of offering sensory-friendly services, I’ve always tried to stay in my lane and let my work speak for itself.

But this first quarter has been strangely slow across the hair industry (at least locally), and with that… I’ve noticed more people than ever suddenly offering children’s services and claiming they can handle all situations.

And I want to be clear- I absolutely believe many stylists have the skill and compassion. This isn’t about tearing anyone down.

But here’s what matters:
The environment makes the biggest difference.
ExtraCare wasn’t an afterthought- it was intentionally created for sensory-friendly services. We offer safe, calm, private appointments designed specifically for these kids.

Timing matters.
When business slows and suddenly everyone wants to “take on the challenge”… it doesn’t quite add up. This work isn’t seasonal. It’s not something you pick up when you need to fill gaps.

I hear stories every single day from families who have had tough experiences elsewhere, and I’ve stayed quiet… but this year feels different. And honestly, I’m just tired of it. 😩 😭
