Happy October 1st Witches!!
What do you do to mark the first of the month or the beginning or Samhain season!?? Some months I do nothing because I prefer to work with the moon cycle. But some months the first feels more significant.
Personally I love October 1st
because it’s my favorite month
(yes I will be saying that about several months).

Spooky season is upon us and squirrel monsters are everywhere freaking us out and sounding bigger than they really are. Hikers and foragers beware!

Sometimes we need to sit or lay and rest our body. Sometimes we need to be kind to ourselves even when we feel frustrated that our bodies are failing us.
That all. I just wanted to acknowledge that.

Come on a morning pajama walk into our chaos garden and meet our mint bed. It was very tall but it all fell over in one of our last rain storms. I let it go to flower because the bees LOVE it. And my kids love all the different flavors of mint.
In this bed we have apple mint, orange mint, peppermint, chocolate mint, and pineapple mint (gifted to me by a lovely neighbor when she heard I was collecting all the mints)

Here’s a very silly video vlog of us trying to knock apples out of our very neglected apple tree.
We inherited this tree with our house last year and our neighbor who is a huge apple nerd tells us they are Burgundy apples! They taste amazing.

Goldenrod is excellent for urinary tract infections or kidney
support.
I use it mostly for wound care as it stops bleeding and is extremely good for joint pain support!
It also helps with allergies and colds.
You can drink the flowers and leaves in a tea. Or make a decoction. I also infuse oil for salves.

feels like a special friend, even a
guide. I have her around me at all
times. She’s always in our house and
I let her grow almost wherever she
wants on our property.
