Subtle changes, big benefits. This lovely lady had been concerned about her hair getting progressively darker with her hair color, especially the front hairline. The hairline can often take darker than expected because the hair is finer. Natural hair should present lightest around the hairline. We added highlights with extra lightening around the hairline. Final result is softer, and subtly dimensional.

So you wanna go red? I’m in, and here’s some things you need to know. It’s gonna fade, even moreso if your hair was previously lightened like this lovely. Doesn’t matter what I do, what you do, what shampoo you use, it is going to fade, especially in the summer. Plan on a return visit in the first few weeks to refresh. Yes, try to shampoo less frequently and mostly at the root area, and only with color safe shampoo. Be careful with high heat, it can also take color out. Try to stay out of the water, especially the pool. Try to cover your hair if you know you’re gonna be in the sun. But ultimately, plan on refreshing sooner than later. Each subsequent application the hair color will last longer, but coming from blonde into red takes grit and determination 💪
