Laurel Chism is a graduate of A Gathering Place Massage Therapy School in Springfield Missouri. She studied directly with “Anand” Jaclyn Kohler, Branch Administrator of A Gathering Place Massage Therapy School in Springfield Missouri and the owner of Awaken Healing + Massage.

As a part of her education, Laurel has curated an incredible skill set of massage techniques including myofascial release and reflexology to optimize relaxation, balance and overall all well being.

Laurel believes in the power of touch and knows in combination with a safe space, each client not only manages their stress, but aligns mind, body and spirit. She releases stagnant energy with the help of her Reiki I attunement.

She also likes to ease aches and pains in the body as well. Whether it’s relaxation or therapeutic work, Laurel holds space for each individual to find their most authentic self and promises to create a beautiful experience tailored to the unique needs of each person she works with.

She also practices Thai Massage and plans to continue her education in other modalities as well. She is a well-rounded therapist with a heart of gold!

The gift of Laurel is her path of service she has walked for many years as a Public Safety as a 911 Dispatcher for over a decade. She is well versed in how trauma can affect someone and therefore she is fueled with the desire to be the peace and love the world needs.

She loves to spend time in nature, chasing waterfalls, kayaking, hiking and camping or simply pausing to enjoy the beauty that Mother Nature offers. She is a mother to four children keeping her hands and heart full.

Laurel understands that when we give ourselves grace and seek healing, we also by extension hold a healing space for those around us. Her commitment to her own journey overflows to those around her.

Join us on a journey to Springfield, Missouri, as we prepare for the unforgettable Winter Ball happening February 1st! This special event is a collaboration between Unstoppable Joy and the Shelly Sachs Foundation, bringing together two incredible missions to support cancer warriors and caregivers. From battling plane turbulence to enjoying sweet tea at McAlister’s, this trip was full of memorable moments: ✈️ Flying out to Springfield to reconnect with service providers, including those who have lived through the cancer journey as warriors and caregivers. 🎥 Partnering with KY3 for a special interview to promote the Winter Ball and highlight how both foundations bring healing and financial support to those in need. 🍦 Visiting Andy’s for the first time and wrapping it all up with a bumpy flight back to Maryland. This trip reminded us of the incredible impact a community can make when we come together.
