As an esthetician it's easy to get caught up in standards and trends. It's easy to forget that skincare literally means caring for your skin. Not over loading it or hiding it.

I catch myself using filters often and while a filter is nothing to be ashamed of, I thought it would be nice to just take a picture of me. No makeup, no filter, and a little tired.

Real skin has texture. I could spend hours discussing my insecurities within this picture alone. But honestly its a good picture. I look cute and happy so who cares?

Since waxing is my niche it is often assumed I am anti-hair. That's just not true. I love a bush, I love arm hair, I love hairy pits and no shame. I wax to bring people peace and confidence in their own bodies. Waxing is not going to do that for everyone.

I love skin that looks real and I love hair if hair makes you happy. I love laugh lines, roots showing, and big smiles.

Estheticians are here to help give each individual healthy skin and that is different for every person. Standards and trends can leave the room.
