Handpainted hibiscus nails 🌺 with my trusty Detailer brush :) I’ve never painted this style before so it was fun to try, we did some flowers on every other nail and on the thumbs!

These were so much fun for summer!! I did a structure layer using tinted Crème Brûlée Build It from Magpie before doing some milky white color gel on top!

Having Crème Brûlée underneath really helps to bring more coverage to the free edge when we were using sheer color for the next layer and didn’t want the natural nail to show as much.

Frosted Build It also would’ve been a good option if a sheerer look was preferred since it’s great to use with light or pastel colors! If we were to use a hard gel, Sculpt It in White would’ve been an absolutely perfect fit since it’s opaque after curing!

I used my sheer milky Frosted Build It for this set and it works amazingly for this client’s nails! I looove my tinted gels since they’re a great way to lay the groundwork for pastels or to use as neutral “backgrounds” before color. :)

I chose Build It for this length of nail since I want to ensure they’ll have enough strength as they grow out, but they’re also not too long, and this builder is ideal for short to medium length nails. Build It has enough flexibility to move with the nail and support it through daily life and not be too rigid! :)

I thought it’d be fun to share a mini before/during/after process of this set! The gel system I’m using here is Magpie USA | HEMA Free Nail Supplies

After prepping the nails, I used Give Me Strength PLUS as my scrub in base, then I went in with my Frosted Build It & adjusted the structure with my Detailer brush. After cleansing the nails to remove that sticky inhibition layer, I painted the nails and topcoated!

Cutie painted cherry nails for summer!! This makes me want to pick up cherries from the farmer’s market hehe :) So happy we’re in June!
