Everyone needs a refresh every now and then! ✨

This client came in for a custom highlight appointment. What I did for her was bringing up some of the lighter pieces to the root again. She does like the depth at the root so we did not do a ton of foils here.

We brought down her dark color with lowlights using ALK to match her natural color to keep that dimensional look and as an added bonus condition those ends!

Then when we had all the foils in I retouched around the ends and did a “tip out” to just lightly brighten those ends up that didn’t have lowlights.

We chose a warm natural tone and styled out with some soft blowout curls. 🥳

I sure do love a good healthy chop! ✂️

This momma needed a good cut and refresh before the arrival of the newest member of the family!

I was so happy we could spend the time bringing up her highlight while making sure the ends stay nice and bright for the summer.

Since the little growing baby was making her hair grow like a w**d, we decided to take 2inches off and keep the layers a little longer for ease of pulling her hair back.

I absolutely love this result and can’t wait to see all the baby pictures when she comes back!

Product Spotlight 🔆

This is Big Blowout one of my all time favorite blowdry products and I’ll tell you why.

Big Blowout is designed to be a soft gel that melts into the hair to provide frizz-free volume.

This product has a heat protection for up to 450° so you can even style with a curling iron or flat iron if you want to!

If the technology isn’t enough to make you love this product then the smell definitely will! This product has notes of rhubarb, orange flower and cedarwood. Which I think make it the perfect combination for an everyday product.

You would want to apply this product to damp hair and work it from roots to ends. You only need about a nickel sized amount, if you have thicker or longer hair you may need more. For the best results you want to blowdry your hair until it is mostly dry but before it starts getting frizzed out. Then follow through with your favorite round brush to get those bouncy ends.

Today I want to address how your lighting matters.

These two pictures were taken on the exact same day only a few minutes apart.

As you can see they look quite different.

The first picture is outside our salon where we have a nice in-direct sun spot. It was a particularly cloudy on this day. But that is my personal favorite for picture taking outside!

In this lighting her shirt looks noticeably brighter and her blonde highlights have a natural cool effect from the toner we used.

In the second picture, we have a healthy mixture of warm and neutral lighting directly overhead. This result while still gorgeous is warmer and highlights the top of her head more because of where the light is positioned above.

Both results (while still gorgeous) show that maybe your bathroom lighting is a little more golden than the lighting in let’s say your living room or a selfie in your car.
