It’s been 2 long years getting her ready to hit the streets and we’re finally at the finish line. I’m so thankful this beautiful angel trusts me with her hair. Not only does she have the most stunning hair but she’s beautiful inside and out💜

Now let’s talk about curls for a minute... there are a lot of rules when it comes to curls...

•Maintain moisture at all costs •Account for shrinkage when cutting
•Over processing WILL damage the curl pattern
•Cut curls dry if they wear their hair natural majority of the time
•Watch your tension when cutting (I hold them like a delicate flower)
•For the love of god do NOT brush them 😉 😂

As much as I love cool tones I love WARM tones even more! Warm tones almost always (in my opinion) do the MOST for your skin tone. Warm tones are bright and reflective and suit almost all skin tones 💯

So many people show me photos of Kylie’s hair as their inspiration, she has THICK, DARK and very COARSE hair. I take the teeniest/tiniest sections when highlighting her and I book her out for 4 hours EVER 👏 TIME 👏 the lift is slow and steady and she is so beyond patient.

Anyone who knows me knows I LOVEEE me a good set of tape ins. It’s honestly my preferred method of installation, hands down!

Tapes lay SO flat to the head and cause the least amount of stress on the hair strands as the weight of the extension is distributed evenly across the tape tab. All extensions can and should be brushed as If they are your natural hair this will prevent matting or breakage and will ensure you’re locs stay shiny and tangle free.

One day I had a DM from this beautiful soul Rika, she had reached out to me as a new client who was starting her journey of transitioning. She asked me “I was wondering if you’d be comfortable doing my hair” and honestly that question made my heart hurt. In my head I thought “wow, I’m so ignorant to the struggles of the transgender community that I didn’t even know this was a question that needed to be asked” because in my mind the obvious answer was OF COURSE I FEEL COMFORTABLE, I would LOVE to be a part of this journey with you!

Rika had very short dark hair and hadn’t really ever had professional coloring before. We sat down and went through several inspiration photos. I explained there would be several steps along this journey to get to her desired style and although she was nervous she was more than patient and understanding of the process, but most importantly she trusted me. So needless to say when I saw this selfie I was SHOOK she looks beautiful, happy, confident and of course “spicy” 🌶 So I wanted to share her journey with you all and show you how far she’s come! I also just wanted to say THANK YOU Rika for allowing me to be part of your journey, I’m so happy that you are feeling so confident and loving the woman you’ve become and guess what girl... we’re almost to shoulder length!!! On Addyson I used a mixed technique of traditional foiling and “teasy lights”. At the end I finished with a root smudge. A root smudge helps to blur any foil lines making it seem as tho the color is growing out of her head. Long term a root smudge will prevent you from having that harsh “line” of new growth, the grow out will be seamless and blended and will last you about 4-5 months time.
