Let’s talk inflammation!

Inflammation is the root cause of so many skin conditions from acne, rosacea, pigmentation and aging! Keeping inflammation down is key when treating the skin.

Today our treatment consisted of calming and hydrating.

- Redness recovery serum - loaded with antioxidants to help inflammation (could use am/on)
- 5% Mandelic acid - for anti inflammatory and antibacterial. (Morning only)
-Hydrabalance gel - hydrating/soothing aloe (can use an/pm)

Don’t underestimate the power of a monthly facial. Her skin was dry and dehydrated when she came in and was in need off a good balance

This is what we did to achieve these results:

- Double cleanse
- Microdermabrasion
- Light dermaplane
- Hydrating enzyme with steam
- Facial massage
- Hydrating mask
- Finishing products

Melasma

I am still so happy about these results. Her before picture is exactly what I mean when I say “deep rooted” pigment. Melasma is a tricky pigment to work with and treat but it is possible.

The Enlighten Peel is an AMAZING option for people with pigment. It is an intense process but it works wonders for my patients.

What is the process like with the Enlighten Peel?

You will pretreat with 2 specific products for 4 weeks. This helps in determine if your skin can handle the peel.

At that 4 week mark we will bring you in for your “peel”. This peel isn’t your typical liquid peel. This formula is thick and orange and you will wear it for 8-12 hours depending on your skin. (Second picture shows you what the peel looks like )

2 weeks after your initial peel application you will come back in and we will apply another layer of the peel on just the areas of pigment.(so with this patient we applied just to her cheek area) After your peel you are given 28days of home care to follow to continue to give you the best result.

Again with anything else, this is not a one and done treatment. You will have to continue to care for your skin morning and night with pigment fighting products, but please don’t be intimidated. We can help and it won’t be as bad as you think!

Black heads

These little guys are also referred to open comedones. They were easily removed to help rid the pore of debris and allow products to get in there keep that pore clean in the future.

Things that work great to help prevent these:

- Monthly facials.
- Cleansing twice a day.
- Keep the skin hydrated the help with easy removal during your appointment.
- Acids! Acids will help to “eat away” the debris that accumulates in the pore in between your treatments with your esthetician.
