Believe The Word
“Jesus saith unto him, Go thy way; thy son liveth. And the man believed the word that Jesus had spoken unto him, and he went his way.” (John 4:50)
As Romans 10:17 says, “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Other people’s reporting was a vital part of this miracle. This man would not have had faith that Jesus could heal if someone hadn’t told him about the miracles Jesus had already performed.
Jesus didn’t approach this man and offer healing. This man approached Jesus and requested a miracle. “…come down, and heal my son: for he is at the point of death.” (verse 47) This was an act of faith. Faith has to be acted on (James 2:20). But from Jesus’ statement in verse 48, it can be suggested that his faith was incomplete. If he’d had the faith of the Roman centurion of Matthew 8:5-13, he could have just asked Jesus to speak the word, and his son would have been healed. However, when Jesus told him to return home because his son was alive, he believed and obeyed.
The Lord didn’t tell this man to do anything specifically. But He told him his son was healed. For this man to leave Jesus with only a word, means he did act in faith. Faith without works is dead (James 2:17). This man had a living faith that produced actions. “And as he was now going down, his servants met him, and told him, saying, Thy son liveth.” (Verse 51)
Confession: Father thank you that you sent your Word to heal me and deliver me from destruction. (Psalm 107:20) Jesus bore my sins, which is the magnet for sickness and disease, in his own body on the tree, that I, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes I am healed. (1 Peter 2:24)

Stand In Faith
“And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ..” (1 Thessalonians 5:23)
The Lord desires that we prosper in spirit, soul, and body. He wants us to be whole, not just healed. Spiritually, the moment that you accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, the spiritual part is done. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17) At salvation, our spirits are “born again”. They become totally new and identical to Christ because the Spirit of Christ has been shed abroad in our hearts (Galatians 4:6 and Romans 8:9).
Our eternal destiny requires a personal decision. God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:4) But, each person must choose to receive what He has already provided.
Through the sacrifice of Jesus, God has already given us eternal life. Romans 8:32 reminds believers that if God did not spare His own Son, He will also freely provide everything we need. So when sickness comes against the physical body, we do not have to wonder whether healing is available. The healing we need has already been provided through Christ.
Confession: Thank You, Lord, for providing not only for my eternal destiny in heaven, but also for my physical healing here on this side of eternity. I choose to stand in faith for both my eternal salvation and my present healing.

Activate God’s Presence With Praise
“And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?” (Matthew 21:6)
Jesus was quoting the scripture from Psalms 8:2. By comparing Jesus’ quote with that actual passage, we can see that Jesus substituted the word “praise” for the word “strength.” Therefore, this was the scripture commenting on itself and likening praise to strength. Praise refocuses your mind and your heart onto the power, the goodness, and the faithfulness of God instead of the size of your problem.
David spent years praising God in the fields. So when Goliath mocked the armies of the living God, David saw an enemy God could handle. His confidence came from a heart trained in focusing on the bigness of his God and not the size of the problem.
No sickness or physical challenges in your life can change the size of your God. Sickness in your life just feels bigger because you’ve been staring at the symptoms instead of Him. Praise puts your eyes back where they belong.
You do not have to beg God to show up; He has promised never to leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). You do not have to prove that you are worthy of His attention. Instead, open your mouth and respond in faith: Thank Him for who He is. Praise Him for the healing His Word says He has already provided. Keep your focus on His faithfulness instead of the problem.
Confession: Father God, I praise You and thank You that I am healed by the stripes of Jesus (1 Peter 2:24). Nothing can change that truth except my failure to keep my focus on You, which can make the symptoms of sickness appear greater than the glory of Your presence.

Sow Good Words, Reap Good Words
“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.” (Luke 6:45)
Our mouths reveal what is in our hearts just as surely as fruit reveals the type of tree. If we listen to people’s speech, we can tell what is in their hearts. Our words are the fruit of our hearts.
God’s Word are seeds. The whole world operates from seeds. There would be no animal, plant, or human life without seeds. The whole kingdom of God is dependent on the Word of God. God’s Word is to His kingdom the way the world is totally dependent on seeds.
What kind of seed are you planting in your heart? One way to know is to listen carefully to what is coming out of your mouth. Your words reveal what has been taking root within you. People who do not understand the power of their words often speak whatever negative thing they feel, fear, or have been told. Without realizing it, they may be planting seeds of defeat, sickness, and even death. Sickness is death incipient.
Guard what you allow into your heart. Refuse to speak words that agree with fear or death. Plant God’s Word in your heart and let your mouth speak life.
Confession: God’s Word is good and perfect, and I choose to sow it into my heart. I will speak what God says about my health and healing and not what I feel or fear. I have what I say, and I declare that my body is full of health, strength, and healing.

Life Restored
“But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.” (Romans 8:11)
This verse does not refer only to the future resurrection, when believers will receive glorified bodies. It also speaks to the present work of the Holy Spirit, who gives life to our mortal bodies now. The same Spirit who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in us, and His life-giving power quickens, strengthens, and brings healing to our physical bodies today.
God warned Adam that if he ate from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, he would surely die. In Genesis 2:17, God said, “In the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” Young’s Literal Translation renders it, “In the day of thine eating of it—dying thou dost die.” Adam’s spiritual death happened immediately, while his physical death began progressively. Sickness is death in its early stages.
The word “death” in the Bible never describes ceasing to exist; it indicates separation. Physical death is where the spirit and soul become separated from the body (James 2:26). Spiritual death is where our spirits become separated from God’s Spirit.
In Romans 8:11, Paul points to the Holy Spirit’s quickening power—available now to believers and ultimately fulfilled in the resurrection of our bodies.
Confession: Sickness is not normal for me. The Spirit of God lives in me and enforces the healing already made available to me as a child of God.

Hear And Say What God Has Said
“Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” (Mark 11:24)
Technically, God has already provided everything we could ever need through Christ (Ephesians 1:3). It’s already done. We already have it in our spirits. Asking in the New Testament isn’t pleading with the Lord to do something but simply a polite way of receiving what God has already provided by grace. If He hasn’t done it, we can’t make Him do it.
Verse 24 starts with the word “therefore,” which connects verse 24 with the previous two verses. That tells us Jesus is still teaching on the subject of having faith in God: “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”
Remember “faith comes by hearing God’s Word.” (Romans 10:17) God decrees a thing, we believe it, and we decree it after Him. Having faith is easy. God said when you pray, believe that you receive, not when you see it. Our physical senses are not the determination for answered prayer, God’s Word is. “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:10)
Confession: I am healed—not because I feel healed or look healed, but because God’s Word declares that I am healed. Since God has spoken it, I will speak it in agreement with Him. I believe His Word, I receive what He has provided, and my healing will surely come to pass.

Prayer Changes Things, Not God
“In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live. Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD,” (Isaiah 38:1-2)
Hezekiah was the king of Judah and he suffered from a terminal illness. A lot of people are shaken when doctors tell them that they’re not going to live. Imagine what it was like for Hezekiah when God gave him that message!
Two important things to understand, Hezekiah wasn’t born again, and God wasn’t judging the man. God was simply telling him that his disease was terminal. God gave Hezekiah a natural diagnosis. In other words, if Hezekiah continued his current course of action, he was going to die and not live.
Hezekiah apparently changed his course of action because when he got the Word of the Lord from the prophet, he stopped depending on natural remedies and prayed; “And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.” (Isaiah 38:3) After Hezekiah’s prayed fervently, he then got another Word from the Lord, “I will add unto thy days fifteen years.” (Isaiah 38:5)
Confession: God made Jesus, who knew no sin, to be sin for me so that I might be made the righteousness of God in Him. Because I am righteous in God’s sight, sickness has been removed from the midst of me.
