As we get closer to November, now is a good time to check your vacation hours and make sure the Benefit Office has your correct address on file.

You can check your hours online at stllaborers.com using your I-Site login or call the Benefit Office at (314) 644-2777 ext. 2.

Recently moved? Be sure to contact the Benefit Office to update your address. Address changes can only be made by the member.

Congratulations to our newest Pension Wall of Fame honoree, Doug Reynolds!

Doug is a proud Local 110 member retiring after 30 years of hard work. He still remembers his first day as a Laborer, working at Truman Nursing Home and thinking, "What have I gotten myself into?"

Thirty years later, Doug is ready to enjoy retirement and spend more time with his family.

Why do I need to complete an Injury/Illness Claim Form?

When the Benefit Office receives a claim from your medical provider, the diagnosis alone may not tell us why you needed treatment. The Injury/Illness Claim Form gives us the additional information needed to properly process your claim and determine responsibility.

If you continue receiving treatment for the same injury or illness, an updated form must be completed every six months.

Updating your pension direct deposit information?

If you receive a pension through the Laborers' Benefit Office and submit a change to your direct deposit information, our office will call you to confirm the change.

This extra step helps make sure you authorized the update and that the information provided on your form is correct.

The Member Assistance Program (MAP) gives members and their families access to confidential support for challenges like stress, anxiety, grief, family concerns and more.

Richard is a proud Local 42 member retiring after 15 years of hard work. Looking back on his career, he has some simple advice for fellow Laborers: "Take care of your body because it's your best tool."

And for younger members just getting started: "Stick with it. It will pay off."

For most members, working 275 hours during a qualifying quarter provides coverage for a future three-month coverage quarter.

Hours worked in June, July and August determine your eligibility for coverage in October, November and December.

Keeping track of your qualifying hours can help you understand where your coverage stands and plan ahead.

If you work outside the St. Louis jurisdiction, you may need more or fewer than 275 hours for eligibility.

September is Su***de Prevention Awareness Month.

Laborers look out for each other on the job, and that should include looking out for each other's mental health.

If a brother or sister seems different, is pulling away from others, or just doesn't seem like themselves, take a minute to check in. Ask how they're doing and, most importantly, listen. A simple conversation can make a difference.

Working outside the St. Louis area? Make sure your benefits follow you.

If you're a Local 42 or 110 member working under another participating Laborers' fund, a Transfer Authorization can allow your Welfare and Pension contributions to be transferred back to the St. Louis Laborers' Funds.

The form is available online at stllaborers.com/forms and can be returned to the Benefit Office by mail, fax, or email.
