đŤ BERRY UPDATE! đť
Bob checks in from 5,200 feet in Western Washington with a fresh look at the berry crop as we get closer to bear season.
From what weâre seeing, these berries are right on schedule and could be perfectly ripe for the first week or two of August!! Setting up what could be some incredible early-season bear hunting.
What are you seeing where you hunt? Are the berries ahead of schedule, behind, or right on time? Drop your elevation and location in the comments so everyone can compare notes.
Weâll be bringing you more berry updates from different elevations and regions throughout July, so be sure to follow along as we track conditions leading into opening day.
Think hunting is too complicated to get started? Youâre not alone.
In Episode 1 of our How to Hunt series, Jeff breaks down the process of getting started in Washington State. From Hunter Education and licenses to choosing your first weapon and understanding the basics, this series is built to remove the barriers that keep people from getting into the outdoors.
Whether youâve been hunting for 30 years or have never stepped foot in the woods, we want to hear from you:
Whatâs the biggest thing stopping people from getting into hunting today?
⢠Is it cost?
⢠Lack of someone to mentor them?
⢠Too much confusing information?
⢠Not enough public access?
⢠Something else?
Drop your thoughts in the comments. Letâs have a real conversation about how we can recruit the next generation of hunters and protect the future of hunting.

People who are against hunting havenât worked hard enough for their food, and havenât eaten an elk steak.
Fishing is more than just catching fishâitâs a tradition passed down from one generation to the next. The knowledge, the stories, the early mornings, and the passion all become part of the legacy.
This adventure started with an idea shared by Jeff and Nootka Marine Adventures: bring three generations of the Roberts family together for the fishing trip of a lifetime.
Jeff was able to give an unforgettable gift to his dad and his two sonsâa Canadian fishing adventure theyâll remember forever. Watching three generations share the same boat, the same excitement, and the same love for the outdoors is what this film is all about.
This is more than a fishing trip. Itâs family. Itâs tradition. Itâs legacy.
The full film is coming soon, and we canât wait to share it with all of you.

Do you take them or leave them?
Though the heart isnât my favorite cut, we still enjoy eating them so I take them home.
My favorite cuts of meat would have to be backstrap, tenderloin, shank, and of course burger. What is your favorite?
