Where is the best place to go stargazing tomorrow night? Lots happening in the galaxy right now and I feel the energy. Do you? Where can I go that is safe but no lights do I can see the stars for a while during late night. I get off at 11 pm
On the night of August 27–28, 2026, the Full Moon will pass through Earth’s shadow, creating a dramatic deep partial lunar eclipse. At the maximum of the eclipse, around 93% of the Moon’s diameter will be inside Earth’s darkest shadow, known as the umbra.
Because most of the lunar surface will be covered by shadow, the Moon may appear noticeably darker, with the eclipsed portion taking on a rusty copper or reddish tint. This color happens because Earth’s atmosphere filters and bends some sunlight toward the Moon.
The eclipse will be visible from much of North and South America, as well as parts of Europe and Africa, although the exact view will depend on the local time and whether the Moon is above the horizon.
Unlike a solar eclipse, a lunar eclipse is safe to observe with the unaided eye. Binoculars or a small telescope can also make the changing shape of Earth’s shadow easier to see. As the night progresses, the shadow will slowly move across the Moon, creating a striking celestial display before the Moon gradually returns to its normal appearance.
