i hear this all the time when giving consultations for fashion colors. the eye buldging shock and disbelief over the cost of such a "simple color"

"but it's just (insert color here)."

but it's not JUST anything. it's skill, product knowledge, formulation, time, and preservation over the integrity of the hair.

in this picture my sweet guest came
to me with roots, and faded color from previous applications both in the salon and at home.

it took 6.5 HOURS. start to finish.

i had to even out her color, lift her regrowth, then finally apply the blue. because she had processed her hair before, i had to take caution in not damaging her hair anymore.

moral of the rant- please understand that (most) stylists aren't out to rip you off with their pricing. there's a lot more to it than just "putting on some color" when it comes to "pinterest hair."

i love when young people want to break the norm and do something wild. but what i love even more is when their mamas are just as stoked! 😜

half true. while i have the ability to schedule days off for myself, i don't just sit at home and relax, or hangout.

this lovely new guest came to me for some hair help. first she had dark hair, then she went light, and then she box colored herself on top of that.

her hair goal - to be a honey blonde on her ends.

because of everything her hair had been through, we set a very realistic goal of evening out her color and getting her balayage as light as possible without heat, so we wouldn't compromise the integrity of her hair.

the picture truly doesn't do it justice but this was a great first session for her.

your hair goals will not always happen in one day. healthy hair is beautiful hair
