You see me at most once every 4–6 weeks. That’s only 12 times a year at MOST, but your skin is being directly treated by what you’re doing at home morning and night. That’s why when we’re working toward long-term correction, whether it’s acne, pigmentation, aging, texture, or overall skin health, I prioritize your skincare routine.

And no, this isn’t about convincing you to buy a shelf full of products. Your routine is customized to your skin, goals, lifestyle AND budget. If we need to start simple and slowly build your routine over time, we can and will.

Treatments can and do absolutely put in work, but they can’t outperform a weak routine at home.

So when I say I can’t promise results while working outside of a treatment plan this is why. I want to know exactly what your skin is using between appointments so I can treat it safely, make adjustments if needed, and give you the best possible chance at reaching your goals.

The stages of getting clear: Baseline → The purge → Managed acne

This is why I tell all my acne clients to trust the process and stick to the treatment plan, especially through the purge!!

When starting an acne regimen, almost always your acne gets worse before it gets better. Congestion that was already developing beneath the surface can start coming up more quickly as we regulate cell turnover and work to prevent new breakouts from forming.

The purge can be frustrating, but getting through it is part of getting to clear skin!! Once we work through that stage we start seeing things calm down and get more manageable.

And that’s really the goal with acne. Acne is a chronic skin condition, so there isn’t a “cure,” but we CAN get it under control and keep it there with the right homecare, treatments, and consistency.

Then once active acne is managed, we get to shift our focus from clearing → scar revision. 🖤

Peel season is officially back, and if you’ve been waiting to see a real change with your skin now’s the perfect time!
