A little behind the scenes of my Orange and Patchouli bar…

These guys are colored orange with red rhassoul clay and turmeric and light purple with an alkanet root infusion.

Alkanet root is so fun to use because it is really quite chameleon-like! The oil infusion is originally a bright ruby red, then the lye solution turns it into a striking baby blue, and finally, once fully cured, the bars become a dusky light purple.

Who needs artificial colors when plants are so cool?!
