Here are some notes for a gentle post-pop plan:

Cleanse gently: Use a mild, non-comedogenic cleanser to wash the area softly, eliminating any bacteria or pus that might have been released.

Apply an antibacterial agent: Opt for a dab of benzoyl peroxide or a product containing salicylic acid to disinfect the area effectively and deter bacteria from infiltrating the open pore.

Use a cold compress: Reduce redness and swelling with a cold compress or ice wrapped in a thin cloth. Never apply ice directly to the skin to avoid frostbite-like damage.

Avoid touching: After your treatment, make an effort to steer clear of the area with your fingers. This helps minimize bacterial spread and lessens the risk of further inflammation.

Hydrocolloid bandage: Consider employing a hydrocolloid bandage, often marketed as pimple or acne patches. These handy bandages work to draw out fluid and offer protection against additional irritation and bacteria.

Keep it moisturized: Prevent the area from drying out, a factor that can heighten the risk of scarring by applying a thin layer of a non-comedogenic moisturizer.

If you observe any signs of infection, such as increased redness, yellow pus, or warmth around the pimple, or if it doesn't appear to be healing, get in touch with me or a dermatologist as a next step!

"What skincare products should I use to start my skincare journey?" Is one of the top questions my clients ask me.

I believe in simplicity because life is so hectic, and adding anything complex can be totally overwhelming for most people, including me. There are 4 basic products you should start with and always have available.

Facial Cleanser: This is the foundation of our skincare regimen. A quality cleanser will remove oil, dirt, sweat, make-up, pollution, and dead skin from the surface of our skin.

Serum: A serum has the ability to pe*****te the layers of the skin deeper than a moisturizer, allowing it to specifically target your skin concerns by working from the inside out. For instance, if you want to target hyperpigmentation, you need a serum that has kojic acid and/ or namicimade.

Moisturizer: Every skin type needs a facial moisturizer. Besides aiding in hydration, moisturizers can balance oiliness, improve the texture and tone, and improve the skin's barrier.

SPF: I know I didn't mention it in the video, but SPF is a critical piece to our skincare journey. Not only does it protect our getting skin cancer, but it prevents brown spots, premature aging, and dryness.

Skincare doesn't have to be complicated to be effective.

Zombie-skincare alert: These tips are a real "reach"! 🧟‍♀️💀

Stopping sugar for acne: It's like thinking zombies prefer salad over brains! A balanced diet matters, but cutting sugar won't magically banish acne. Opt for smart, not spooky, choices.

Dermatologist Tested” is not an official certification: it’s just a marketing slogan. Legally, this should mean that at least one dermatologist did test the product. It doesn’t mean the FDA, the American Academy of Dermatology, or any other organization endorses the product. Be wary of this claim if you can’t identify the source of the endorsement.

Needle to a pimple? Poking your skin can lead to infection. Let your skin heal naturally.

SPF out for the colder, cloudier seasons? Oh, the horror! UV rays lurk year-round, even on cloudy days. Shield your skin from the undead sun with SPF daily.

Don't let skincare myths turn you into a beauty zombie!

Let's fall back in love with our skin. Healthy skin is easy to achieve with consistency, quality products, and regular facials.

As the seasons change, so do the needs of your skin. The weather is getting cooler, and the humidity is dropping. Your skin may start to feel dry and flaky, especially if you're not following a skin care regimen.

This winter, let's aim to keep our skin healthy and glowing.
