Special shout-out to Elle, who is doing big things both in our local community and nation wide. She is a darling Stockton girl, and I have had the joy of doing her hair since she was a little girl! She is the founder of Socks for Seniors, and was featured recently in People Magazine recognizing her big heart and the smiles she brings to senior citizens. Let’s show her some love! This post may not reach the 1100some-odd followers I had on IG, but hopefully it can reach some. After a month of trying to dispute an IG “community violation” with multiple repetitive glitches, and no human being or tech/account service person to talk to, my Instagram page has been permanently disabled. I showcased all my art on that account, and I was able to know my clients on even more of a personal level via that page. Now it is gone and it is irreversible. I’m not going to make another account. But I want to take a minute to give a HUGE middle finger to “Meta” for taking my business account away that I posted absolutely nothing offensive on EVER. It was a hair page. Nothing harmful, sexual, political, etc. Just art. And yet psychopaths can post pictures of guns, threats, bullying, and more and they still get to live their best lives. 🤦🏼‍♀️ It hasn’t been the first time one of my accounts got “flagged”-this exact page was! And the reason for that: the back of someone’s head showcasing their beautiful hair was considered “sexual solicitation”. I fought it and it was reversed. This time I don’t even know what was considered “against community standards” because I wasn’t given a chance. So cheers to giving people such sexy hair that it broke the IG rules.

I will be over here handing $200 to my stylist Jen until we are both dead. I will go to the arms of Jesus with blonde highlights and fresh roots with a face that suggests some hard living but hair that could be plunked down on the head of a college sophomore. What is my natural color? How the hell do I know? I haven’t seen that color in 20 years. Check my eyebrows I guess. If God wanted me to go gray, he shouldn’t have made hair dye.

I did not wake up like this.
