The most common cause of hair loss in aging men and women is androgenic alopecia, or balding. Individuals may start losing hair any time after puberty, but it is common for balding patterns to become present after the age of 40. This type of balding does not occur because of medications or disease.
Follicles are structures in the skin that make and grow hair. With aging, the follicles make less melanin, and this causes gray hair.
Men and women’s hair loss causes are often the same. However, stress, autoimmune and chemical damage—not genetics—play a larger role in hair loss in women.
Certain ingredients in hair care products can cause hair loss. Sodium chloride, better known as table salt, is used as a thickener in shampoos and conditioners containing sodium lauryl sulfate. It's a contributing factor to the eye irritation experienced with most shampoos, and it may also cause dry and itchy scalp. It may also cause hair loss.
Many shampoos on the market contain ingredients that may actually damage hair and irritate the scalp. In extreme cases, some of these ingredients may even cause or exacerbate hair loss. These additives can be avoided by taking the time to read the labels on hair care products.
Sulfates
Sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) and ammonium lauryl sulfate (ALS) are surfactants found in many inexpensive shampoos because they produce a large amount of foam. According to Healthy-Communications.com and the Journal of the American College of Toxicology, these sulfates were found to be irritants in patch tests at concentrations of 2 percent and greater, which is a much lower concentration than the 20 percent found in many shampoos. Additionally, rat studies have shown both SLS and ALS cause damage to hair follicles, potentially resulting in hair loss. Sodium and ammonium laureth sulfate, which are closely related to the aforementioned ingredients, were found to have irritant effects as well.
Sodium Chloride
Sodium chloride, better known as table salt, is used as a thickener in shampoos and conditioners containing sodium lauryl sulfate. It's a contributing factor to the eye irritation experienced with most shampoos, and it may also cause dry and itchy scalp. It may also cause hair loss. In shampoos containing ammonium-based surfactants, ammonium chloride is used instead.
Formaldehyde
Formaldehyde is used in some shampoos and conditioners, including some baby shampoos, as a preservative because of its low cost and disinfectant qualities. Formaldehyde may cause damage to DNA, and excessive exposure to formaldehyde may cause some hair loss.
Formaldehyde can be listed on a product label by other names, such as:
Formalin. Formic aldehyde. Methanediol. Methanal. Methyl aldehyde. Methylene glycol. Methylene oxide.
Healthy hair comes from healthy follicles. Thin, slow growing and week hair is often the result of hair follicles lacking the access to the nutrients they need. Either by being blocked from them or by there simply not being enough of them present in your blood.
Capill-Hair works in 5 ways to combat this:
1. Boosts the level of hair nutrients in the blood
2. Boost blood circulation & stimulates follicles topically to target areas of the scalp
3. Helps follicles to regain access to more nutrients by inhibiting DHT
4. Contains Keratin and ingredients that contribute to Keratin Production.
5. Contains Collagen that contributes to Collagen Production.
Acti-Labs Capill Hair Shampoo & Mask has essential vitamins, minerals, and nutrients for healthy hair growth.

Healthy Benefits of Bilberry Fruit
This ingredient is in our new skincare line
Rich in antioxidants known as anthocyanins and polyphenols, Vaccinium Myrtillus is commonly known as bilberries have been used for medicinal purposes for conditions ranging from eye conditions to diabetes.
Bilberry is often touted as a remedy for eye conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, dry eyes, age-related macular degeneration, and retinitis pigmentosa.
As a source of antioxidants, bilberries are also thought to curb inflammation and protect against diseases associated with oxidative stress, such as inflammatory bowel disease, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, gingivitis, and age-related cognitive decline.
The anthocyanins in bilberry are said to reduce inflammation and stabilize tissues containing collagen such as cartilage, tendons, and ligaments.
Bilberry is said to strengthen the walls of blood vessels and is sometimes taken orally for varicose veins and hemorrhoids.
So far, very few studies have tested the health effects of bilberry. Still, there’s some evidence that it shows promise in the treatment of certain conditions. Here’s a look at some findings from the available research:
Eye Fatigue
Bilberry shows promise in the treatment of eye fatigue, suggests a small study published in the Journal of Nutrition, Health & Aging. In tests on 281 people who used video display terminals, researchers determined that treatment with bilberry extract may help improve both objective and subjective measures of eye fatigue.
Other Eye Conditions
Preliminary studies suggest that bilberry extract may play a possible role in the treatment of retinal disorders and other eye conditions. In studies on animals, for example, bilberry was found to protect retinal cells against degeneration.
Gingivitis (Gum Inflammation)
Bilberry may help to control gum (gingival) inflammation in people with gingivitis, according to a study published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences. Participants in the study consumed either 250 grams of bilberries, 500 grams of bilberries, or a placebo, or received standard care for seven days. The researchers concluded that 500 grams of bilberries resulted in a reduction of gum inflammation.
Possible Side Effects
Although bilberry fruit is generally considered safe when consumed in amounts typically found in food, allergic reactions can occur.
Bilberries naturally contain substances known as tannins (found in many foods such as coffee, tea, red wine, blueberries, cranberries, grapes, pomegranate, apples, milk chocolate, dark chocolate and some nuts and beans like chickpeas). If you have an allergy or sensitivity to foods containing tannin, you should avoid bilberry.
If you drink coffee, tea or red wine and have not had any allergic reactions. Then you should be safe when using products that contain Bilberry or Vaccinium Myrtillus.
Some Fruit juices and cider can all be sources of tannins
If you have eaten blueberries, cranberries, chocolate, and some nuts and beans that contains tannins and have not had any allergic reactions, then you shouldn't have a problem either.
Blackberries, strawberries, raspberries, cherries, pineapples, lemons, limes, oranges, grapefruit, guava, cantaloupe and honeydew all contain tannins. Mangoes, dates, kiwis, nectarines, peaches, pears, apricots, plums, bananas, and avocados also sources of tannins. Vegetables aren't as likely to be high in tannins, although squash and rhubarb can contain these substances.

Hydrolyzed Marine Collagen... What is it?
Marine Collagen is a type I collagen, which is the most abundant collagen in the human body. Type I is best known for providing the foundation for beautiful skin, strong connective tissues, and sturdy bones. Marine collagen peptides have very specific amino acid compositions with a high concentration of glycine, hydroxyproline, and proline. These hydroxyproline peptides stimulate cells in the skin, joints, and bones, and lead to collagen synthesis through cell activation and growth.
Since Marine collagen is a type I collagen and type I collagen are what our skin consists of, it’s not surprising that it can benefit the skin. It helps prevent and improve any signs of skin aging. Skin benefits include improved smoothness, better moisture retention, increased suppleness and prevention of deep wrinkle formation
Hydrolyzed Marine Collagen is composed of small, low molecular weight peptides, which are easily digested, absorbed and distributed by the human body. Research published recently in the Open Nutraceuticals Journal states how numerous clinical trials have now been performed showing the efficacy and benefits of collagen peptides on skin properties, including hydration, elasticity, and reduction of wrinkles. Researchers conclude that hydrolyzed collagen is a smart weapon in the everyday fight against the undesirable yet visible signs of aging.
Marine collagen peptides are known to have the best absorption and bio-availability due to their smaller particle sizes compared to other collagens, making them antioxidant powerhouses.
Hydrolyzed Marine Collagen is absorbed up to 1.5 times more efficiently into the body and has superior bio-availability over other collagens. Since it’s absorbed more efficiently and enters the bloodstream more quickly, it’s considered the best collagen source for medicinal purposes. Marine collagen’s ability to be more easily absorbed by our bodies is thanks to its lower molecular weight and size, which allows the collagen to be absorbed at a higher level thru the skin.

What are free radicals?
You can't see it, but your skin is constantly under attack by free radicals—damaging molecules that come from light, pollution, cigarette smoke, and more. (That's why the air around you might be your skin's biggest enemy.) What makes them so dangerous—bear with the chemistry lesson—is that each one is missing an electron, causing them to go on a search-and-destroy mission within the deeper layers of your skin to make themselves whole again.
Free radicals attack proteins like collagen and lipids (i.e., the skin’s structural layer and defensive barrier, respectively), explains Wilson. This can lead to wrinkles, dryness, and lackluster skin. Free radicals destroy the collagen and elastin fibers that keep your skin firm and the hyaluronic acid that keeps your skin plumped. Deep creases appear. Skin gets thinner and dull.” Free radical damage is the cause of a whopping 80 percent of all skin aging.
How can we protect ourselves against free radicals?
Antioxidants are crucial in the fight against free radicals. One way to prevent surface skin damage from free radicals is through antioxidants because they can help neutralize the molecules and prevent them from potentially causing signs of aging in your body. Our bodies produce a limited amount of antioxidants, so it is important to try and apply antioxidants on a regular basis. Incorporate antioxidants into your diet and skincare routine for youthful-looking, glowy skin. Antioxidants ingredients can quench free radicals by binding with them to create stable molecules.
Many of our skin care products contain antioxidants such as vitamins A, C, E, Bilberry berries, Orange extract, acai berries, Licorice Root Extract, and Green Tea Extract. Incorporating these products into your daily skin routine will help your skin fight free radicals.
Aside from antioxidants, many of our products also contain ingredients to help protect from sun rays and from the more damaging effects of UV Rays!
