"There is a light that shines beyond all things on earth, beyond us all, beyond the heavens, beyond the highest, the very highest heavens. This is the light that shines in our hearts." Chandogya Upanishad
"Ultimately we have just one moral duty: to reclaim large areas of peace in ourselves, more and more peace, and to reflect it towards others. And the more peace there is in us, the more peace there will also be in our troubled world." Etty Hillesum, a young holocaust victim.

Good Morning Pooja People! Wednesday was Global Deeksha Day! I must admit I didn't feel more blissful. The world didn't shift for me, but I have a new mantra that puts me smack dab in the middle of the moment! It is inspired by James Swarzt. The most amazing Vedanta teacher. "I am awareness" when recited I find that colors are brighter and my mind quiets.
Good Morning Pooja People! I'm planning on attending a spiritual weekend retreat at The Saint Benedict Abbey, Still River, MA. The retreat is May 1-3., 2015. Please let me know if you would like to attend. There is a cost associated with the retreat but very fair. Please message me if interested.
Good Morning Pooja People! We at Pooja People have received many inquiries about how to create a home altar! We feel that it is important to bring sacredness back!
1.) Choosing a spot that is visible for the altar. Don't stick god in the closet.
2.) Choosing a color is vital to energizing the space.Begin simply by placing a cloth on a shelf or table. The cloth can be one of significance or of a specific color that has meaning to you. Everything about the space is ultimately personal.
3.) Choosing a theme is one of the ways to create a home altar. We recommend using the four elements to ground your space. The four elements are fire, water, earth, and air. Fire can be represented by candles; water by a bowl of water in which you might float a flower petal; earth can be symbolized by a rock; and air by incense...
4.) Choosing sacred items will lift the vibration of the space. Honor your ancestors by presenting their pictures or items that remind you of them. Add an item for your past and one for your future and of course your masters or divine energies.

Good Morning Pooja People!
Begin practice ~ This will awaken and open the subtle energies in the body making you more sensitive to your own heart, others and Universal guidance.
Warming up the spine ~ Sitting cross legged on the floor or in a chair with feet planted on the earth, spine erect, eyes closed, focus on the third eye (space between the eye brows), palms face down on thighs, begin leaning your spine forward as you take a deep inhale, moving to the right still on the inhale, then begin to round the spine as you exhale back and to the left. Continue in a clockwise direction 4 times and then switch going counter clockwise. Once complete, sit with eyes closed and breath deeply feeling the body and all its sensations.
Ego Eradicator ~ Sitting cross legged on the floor or in a chair with feet planted on the earth, spine erect, eyes closed, focus on the third eye (space between the eye brows), hold arms out at 60 degrees (in a V) with thumbs pointed straight up to the sky, begin breath of fire keeping arms fully engaged holding the intent to awaken your pranic body (higher self) to lead throughout the day. Hold for 2 Minutes!
Feel gratitude!
