Timberledge Wellness
Welcome to this little tree house style oasis of holistic healing from skin to soul.
Sometimes your mind understands that you’re okay… but your body hasn’t gotten the message yet.
We can tell ourselves to relax, stop overthinking, or let something go—but sometimes what the body needs isn’t another thought.
It needs an experience of safety.
Warmth. Gentle touch. Stillness. Breath. Feeling supported and cared for.
These simple things can create space for the body to soften, settle, and finally exhale.
That’s a big part of the work I do at Timberledge—creating a space where you don’t have to perform, explain, or figure everything out.
You can simply receive.
When was the last time you let yourself do that?
We often think healing means talking about it.
Understanding it. Analyzing it. Finding the right words for what happened.
And sometimes, that’s exactly what we need.
But sometimes… we’ve already talked. We already understand. And our body is still holding on.
Healing can also happen through experience — through feeling safe, being grounded, receiving nurturing touch, and allowing yourself to simply be without having to explain anything.
This is part of the intention behind Energy Touch. It isn’t about replacing the work you may already be doing. It’s about creating another way to connect with yourself — through the body instead of only through words.
Sometimes the next step isn’t finding the right thing to say.
Sometimes it’s allowing yourself to receive.
Have you ever felt like you’ve talked something through, understood it… but your body was still holding onto it? Tell me below.
Sometimes exhaustion isn’t solved by simply sitting down. You can be curled up on the couch, lying in bed, or finally have the house to yourself—and still feel the need to scroll, think, plan, check, or do.
Your body may be still, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve settled. In this day and age, we are filled with immediate responses and need for stimulation and dopamine hits. Learning to rest can begin with noticing what happens when you finally stop.
Can you be still without needing to fill the space? Comment below if you are called to.

Timberledge Tidbits
September has always felt like a threshold to me. It's the space between seasons. Summer hasn't quite released its hold, but fall is beginning to make itself known. The light shifts. The evenings come a little earlier. The air begins to change. We may still have warm afternoons, but there are little reminders everywhere that another season is coming.
I've been thinking about how much our own lives move through seasons, too. Sometimes we're growing and creating. Sometimes we're holding on. Sometimes we're asked to let go. And sometimes we find ourselves somewhere in between—no longer where we were, but not quite sure what comes next.
I think there can be something sacred about that space. We don't always have to rush toward the next chapter. Maybe transition can simply be a time to notice. To take stock of what this season gave us, what it asked of us, and what we want to carry forward.
As summer begins to soften into fall, perhaps September can be an invitation to do the same. To soften. To listen. To make space. And to trust the season we're entering—even before we know exactly what it will bring.
The Season We Don't Talk About Enough; Support Through Transition; Ask Yourself
The In-Between
Lately, I've been thinking about another kind of “in-between” season: perimenopause. Thankfully, it's becoming a much bigger conversation. For generations, so many women entered this transition without really understanding what was happening in their bodies—or why they suddenly didn't quite feel like themselves.
Perimenopause can bring changes to sleep, skin, mood, energy, temperature regulation and so much more. But beyond the physical changes, I think there's another piece worth acknowledging: transition itself can be unsettling. There can be a sense of leaving one version of yourself behind before you've fully met the woman you're becoming.
I'm now post-menopausal, on the other side of that particular threshold, and I've come to see it less as something I went through and more as a season I transitioned into. Maybe this stage of life doesn't have to be framed entirely around what we're losing. Maybe there's room to become curious about what we're entering, too.
And there's an interesting connection to my word for this year—embodiment. Menopause is such a physical transition, but it can also ask, Who am I in this body now? What does this body need from me now? What am I no longer willing to tolerate? What feels good now? That's much deeper than the usual hot-flashes-and-hormones conversation. Just giving some exploration points (and perspective) for you to ponder if you are in this stage of life.
Support, Support, Support Through the Season You're In
When we're moving through a transition, there's often an instinct to push through it—to keep doing what we've always done and wonder why it suddenly feels harder. But transitions ask something different of us. They ask us to listen.
Whether you're moving through perimenopause, navigating a loss, adjusting to a life change, or simply feeling the shift from one season into another, what supported you before may not be what you need now. Your body may be asking for more rest. Your skin may need something different. Your nervous system may be craving quiet. Your boundaries may need to become a little stronger. You may need more connection—or more space.
Supporting yourself isn't always about making the discomfort go away. Sometimes it's about creating enough space to hear what your body and inner self have been trying to tell you.
Sometimes we need assistance and outside support. Sometimes we need to ask for help. It is really important to know that we are not alone in whatever season we are transitioning through. It is important to know that receiving help or assistance is not weakness, it's connection. and it's ok.
What Kind of Support Do You Need This Season?
Timberledge Wellness: a place where you don't have to perform, push through, or have everything figured out. It's a place to soften, reconnect with yourself, and receive the kind of care you need in the season you're actually in.
Whether it's a restorative facial, reiki, sound healing, or the deeper work of Energy Touch, you don't have to wait until you are completely depleted to give yourself space to receive.
What I want you to take with you this month and think about the season you are actually in...
Not the body you used to have.
Not the energy you think you should have.
Not the version of yourself you've outgrown.
Not where everybody else thinks you should be.
Where are you now? And what does this version of you need?
I am here for it all and ready to meet you where you are.
Much love, light and healing ,
Leighsa

09/01/2026
I am ready to let August go.
This month has carried so much loss.
Some deeply personal.
Some close enough to touch.
Some belonging to people I've never known personally, but whose presence has been woven through my lifetime.
And this morning, I woke to news of another.
I talk often about letting go. About endings making space for beginnings. About trusting what comes next.
But sometimes?
An ending just hurts.
Sometimes I don't want to search for the lesson or rush toward the new beginning. I just want to acknowledge the hole left behind.
Grief doesn't need to become gratitude before we're ready. Loss doesn't need to become a lesson.
Maybe the beginning comes later.
Maybe today we simply honor what was.
The people we loved.
The lives that touched ours.
The chapters we weren't ready to close.
So on this last day of August, I'm not asking what comes next.
I'm simply saying:
Thank you for what was.
I will carry it with me.
And I'm ready to turn the page.
What happens when you feel safe enough to let go?
In Session 2 of Energy Touch, we explore something that can be surprisingly difficult:
asking for what you need.
For many of us, there are parts that learned a long time ago to stay quiet. To adapt. To not ask for too much. To take care of everyone else first.
So we create a space where nothing has to be performed or pushed.
A nurture nest. Gentle, intentional touch. Warmth. Presence. Permission.
And sometimes, when the body begins to feel safe, the younger parts of us finally have enough room to emerge.
Not to be fixed.
To be heard.
To be nurtured.
To receive.
This is part of the work of Energy Touch.
If something in you is ready to feel safer, soften, and receive, Energy Touch may be a place to begin. Let's start a conversation.
Today, this is enough.
What are you giving yourself permission NOT to do today? Share with me in the comments.
Maybe healing begins by being more honest about what works for you and what doesn’t—even if that truth changes your plans.
How does that resonate with you?
Choosing yourself doesn't have to be a grand gesture. It can be taking a step outside to feel the sunshine on your face. It can be a snuggle with your cat. It can be a mini marathon of watching Love is Blind.
It's just listening to what you need today. What does choosing you look like right now?
Grief is heavy.
And it doesn't move in a straight line.
One moment you may feel okay.
The next, a memory, a familiar place, a sound, or absolutely nothing you can name brings another wave.
Let it come.
Cry when you need to cry.
Rest when your body asks you to rest.
Talk about it. Sit quietly with it.
Let someone hold space for you.
Grief isn't something we need to hurry through or "get over."
It's a process of learning how to carry a love that suddenly has nowhere to go.
Sometimes healing looks like releasing.
Sometimes it looks like receiving.
Reiki can offer a quiet space for both — a place to soften, breathe, feel what needs to be felt, and simply be held for a little while.
There is no right way to grieve.
There is only your way.
If you are carrying something heavy right now, allow me to offer a quiet space to be with it, with you. You don't have to come with the right words, or any words at all.
