I’ve always been a creative person.

Long before I understood that creativity could become a career, I was drawn to creating things with my hands.

Hair became one of the places where that creativity could live.

But it was never just hair.

It was texture.
Color.
Shape.
Movement.
Transformation.

It was taking something I could see in my mind and bringing it to life.

And that’s what I love about being an artist.

There isn’t always a formula.

Sometimes you just have to trust your eye, trust your hands, and trust the vision.

That’s what Bel Atis Beauty has always represented for me.

Not simply beauty — but beauty as art, expression and transformation.

And as I step into this new season, I’m realizing something:

I don’t have to separate the woman I am from the artist I am.

She is one and the same.

This is the kind of beauty I want to be known for. 🤍

On Wednesday, I had the opportunity to volunteer my time and donate my services to support a back-to-school community event.

I created a knotless braided style for one young lady and a braided updo for another, and I also put together gift bags with a few goodies for them to enjoy.

It may seem like something small, but I’ve learned that sometimes the things we have to give—our time, our talents, our encouragement—can mean so much to someone else.

I love what I do, but I also love what what I do allows me to do.

To create.
To encourage.
To connect.
To give back.

This is more than beauty. This is community.

The week was HECTIC. 😩😂
Between everything I had going on, getting my babies ready for the first day of school had me scramblingggg. I was definitely aggy, stressed, and probably questioning why I waited until the last minute. 😂

But one thing about me… I’m gonna make it happen for my kids.

I love when they come to me with their creative ideas for their hair. I love bringing their visions to life, and honestly, one of my favorite parts is seeing their faces when I’m finished. 🥹❤️

Because regardless of the chaos happening around them, I want my kids to feel like Mom showed up. Mom listened. Mom made it happen.

Was it perfect? Absolutely not.
Was I stressed? Absolutely. 😂
Did I get it done? ABSOLUTELY.

And sometimes motherhood is just that—doing the best you can with what you have, even when the week has completely gotten away from you.

Mom guilt is only a thing if you don’t keep your word.
I said I was going to get their hair done… and baby, I MADE IT HAPPEN. 😂🙌🏾
Because motherhood isn’t about doing it perfectly. It’s about showing up—and making it happen.

Now let me go recover from this first-day-of-school hustle. 😂

There’s something so special about watching an idea come to life—and even more special when you get to witness your own family stepping into something they’re passionate about. ❤️

As artists, we don’t always fit inside one box. Makeup, hair, film, fashion, storytelling, design… there are so many ways to create, express, and bring a vision to life.

On Monday, I had the honor of serving alongside texturetakesthestage at the Restoration Spa Day for the New Beginning Reentry Services —a program dedicated to supporting women as they transition back into their communities after incarceration. 💛

These incredible women were treated to hair, makeup, professional photography, and gift bags filled with goodies to take home. But what they received went far beyond beauty services.

We shared conversations, listened without judgment, spoke words of encouragement, laughed, and reminded each woman of her beauty, strength, and worth. It was a powerful reminder that sometimes the greatest transformation begins with feeling seen, valued, and loved.

I’m incredibly grateful to be able to use the gift of creativity God has given me to serve others in such a meaningful way. Moments like these remind me that beauty isn’t just about what we do on the outside—it’s about the confidence, hope, and healing we help restore within.
