Next up, I’m so excited to officially introduce Kamryn! 🤍

Kamryn has been assisting me since she was 16 years old, and now she is 19 and a licensed stylist! I’ve had the privilege of watching her passion for the beauty industry grow from the very beginning. She started cosmetology school at 17 and has now officially transitioned from my assistant to a stylist here at Salon South! 🥹

Kamryn has such a genuine passion for making people feel beautiful and confident. She especially loves creating dimensional color that adds depth, movement, and a beautifully blended finish. She’s hardworking, eager to learn, and always looking for ways to grow in her craft.

It has been so special watching her grow from a young assistant into the talented stylist she is today. I’m incredibly proud of her and so thankful she has chosen to continue her journey here with us at Salon South.

Kamryn is excited to welcome new clients, build lasting relationships, and help each person who sits in her chair feel like the very best version of themselves. I can’t wait to see everything she accomplishes! 🤍

✨ Meet Audrey! ✨

Next up in our Salon South stylist introductions is Audrey Marsh! 💛

Audrey is 22 years old and has been behind the chair for a little over 3 years. She graduated from Hair Station Studio College of Beauty and truly loves all things hair—from cuts and color to blonding and everything in between! ✂️

Audrey has such a sweet personality that makes her so easy to talk to. She really takes the time to listen to her clients, get to know what they’re wanting, and make sure they feel heard and taken care of while they’re in her chair.

For Audrey, it’s about beautiful hair and making her client leave feeling beautiful and confident. She values the trust her clients place in her and loves bringing their hair goals to life. 🫶🏼

Audrey truly loves what she does, and it shows in the way she cares for her clients and continues to learn and grow behind the chair.

There are still a few more Salon South girls I can’t wait to introduce, but in the meantime, I figured I’d go ahead and tell you a little about myself. 🤎

I’m Carly McKenzie, owner of Salon South. I’ve been behind the chair for 16 years now! I’ve owned my own salon for the last 11 years, and a little over a year ago I opened Salon South.

I love all things hair, but natural-looking, dimensional color is definitely my favorite. I especially love lived-in blondes. There’s just something about taking an all-over blonde and transforming it into something softer and more dimensional that makes me so happy. 😄🥰

Creating and transforming spaces is another thing I’ve loved for a long time. About 5 years ago I got into purchasing and remodeling rental properties. I now have four, and I’ve taken some pretty rough places and completely transformed them—many times doing a ridiculous amount of the work myself. 😆 So when it came to Salon South, naturally I wanted to get my hands on everything. The remodeling, the decorating, the little details... I love watching an idea in my head turn into an actual space.

I’m so proud of how far Salon South has come in its first year, but if you know me, you know I’m never really done. I already have plenty more ideas for this place!

Outside of work, I’m 40 and momma to two—my son, Cash, who is 11 and a middle schooler at Sumrall Middle, and my 3-month-old baby girl, LexiJune. Between doing hair, owning the salon, rental properties, projects, and being a mom, life stays pretty busy—but I honestly don’t think I’d know what to do with myself any other way.

More than anything, I’m thankful for the clients who have trusted me with their hair over all these years, the girls who have chosen Salon South to build their businesses, and everyone who has supported me along the way.

16 years behind the chair, 11 years as a salon owner, and one year into Salon South... and I’m still excited about what’s next. 🤎
