So you booked your first wax appointment, now what?
The most important step to getting a GOOD wax is preparing the skin BEFORE your appointment!
Here’s what you should do to prep the skin-
1) STOP SHAVING!! For the wax to grab the hair it has to be long enough, the hair should be about the length of a grain of rice.
2) If not already, start exfoliating 2-3 times a week, This ensures there is no dead skin covering the hair making it easier to pull from the root.(Do not exfoliate the day of your appointment as waxing is a form of exfoliation.)
3) Keep your skin moisturized by applying a non-scented lotion or serum daily.
4) Show up to your appointment with nothing on your skin, no numbing creams, no moisturizers or oil on the skin as this can cause wax to not stick.
5) Avoid caffeine before your appointment, this can cause the skin to be extra sensitive,
6) Although I don’t allow numbing cream, taking an ibuprofen 30 minutes to an hour before your appointment may help with the discomfort but is not necessary. ✨
