Getting to know our team this week 🩵

Hi, my name is Kayleen! I’m the Admin Coordinator at The Wax Room. I started working at The Wax Room in September 2025. I’ve always enjoyed the tedious tasks, computer work, getting everything organized and then reorganizing it again, but this job has become so much more. From learning the ins and outs of what truly goes into waxing and laser, being able to be apart of a team who cares so much about the business they work for, and getting to be a small part of our amazing clients lives. By far, my favorite part of going to work everyday is conversing with our clients while they hang out in the front lobby just before their appointments. We chat about everything up there from travel plans to errands for the day to our mutual love for animals and sometimes we just sit in the silence of the calm lobby. It truly is such a special place, filled with amazing people, and an honor to be apart of💕

A little bit about me! I’m 24 and recently married to the love of my life. We have 3 dogs who I also refer to as my children. Reading has become a newer passion of mine but I also love bingeing a good tv show, a Pepsi or dr pepper a day is a nonnegotiable, and I’m always spending my weekends outdoors!

I absolutely adore working along side all of our waxers at The Wax Room and seeing them thrive in their elements. I’m so grateful to learn from Mckenze on how much it takes to run a small business and to see how much she cares for it. And I love being able to hear from all who come in that this place feels as special to them as it does to us!

Just a little re-introduction because it’s been a while 🤍

Hi, I’m McKenze! Owner of The Wax Room, wife, mama to a son + daughter, and a licensed esthetician for 10 years now (which honestly still feels crazy to say out loud).

I started The Wax Room 7 years ago with a huge dream, a tiny treatment room, and absolutely no idea how much this business would change my life. What started as just me waxing has turned into a team of incredible women, thousands of clients who feel more like friends, and a space I’m endlessly proud of.

And if I’m being honest… owning a business hasn’t always looked as shiny behind the scenes as it may online. I’ve learned a lot of lessons the hard way, had moments where I felt completely overwhelmed, and other moments where I felt so inspired and excited I could hardly sleep. I think that’s the reality of building something you care deeply about.

I love the beach and would probably live there if I could, iced coffee is basically a personality trait at this point, and most days my brain feels like 100 tabs open between motherhood, business ownership, and team life. Some of my favorite friendships have come from this industry — the kind where a 7 minute voice note can completely fix your day. I genuinely love helping my team grow into confident providers, and I care deeply about the little details at The Wax Room, from the smell of the studio to the gummy bears at checkout. And… I still get excited every single time someone chooses us.

The Wax Room has always been more than waxing to me. It’s connection, girl talk, feeling comfortable in your own skin, and creating a place people actually want to come back to.

So whether you’ve been with us since day one or you’re brand new here… hi 🤍 I’m really happy you’re here
