As a young hairstylist, no one warns you how bad it fu***ng sucks when this happens. A person I’ve shared bits of life with, listened to so many stories, gotten words of wisdom on parenting and life for over 10 years, gone. I knew it would be quick, I was hopeful I’d at least see her one more time for a home visit before she passed.

Wispy layers and a playful fringe make her look flawless no matter how it is styled 👌🏼 the overall chic look in this reel is probably my favorite thing we have done yet 👏🏼 we kept most of her length while still giving her a bit of that s**g look to keep it fun 🤗 **ghaircut

By far one of the most useful tools in my arsenal 😮‍💨🤌🏻 clear and 20 vol to bump off any residual end color is the MVP for creating a perfectly even canvas to tone with whatever you want 🙌🏼👏🏼 whether the residual color is from a gloss or purple shampoo, we have all seen it and this is the perfect way to get rid of it 👌 **and no I don’t have an after because my brain couldn’t be bothered to remember that 🥲😂** just trust that it was the whitest platinum 🙌🏼

Session #1 for my new guest 🩷 I can’t wait for the next session. This client wanted grey blending and did 👏🏼 not 👏🏼 get 👏🏼 it 🫪 SO, this was a mostly a back to back foil using 20volume on the root and 6&10 on the mid/ends. Some of her hair is compromised so I also did a k18 treatment and CAREFULLY foiled •That is why it will be multiple sessions• Luckily she keeps this cute and funky bob so the compromised hair will grow out quickly 🙌🏼 and then we will continue on her grey blending journey 🩶 I blended with a cool, dark lowlight (7Na/7Vb 2:1) and a neutral lowlight (9M) painted between some foils to help blend 👌

Let’s talk about it 🔊 I learned this approximately 50 years ago, when I started my career. I have used it for approximately 75 years 😉 to help clients with a sensitive scalp. The main ingredient in Sweet N Low it saccharin. For hair color, when is comes to itchiness, some of us add it to our formulas to help reduce scalp irritation and itching during dyeing **though this practice is not widely scientifically validated** —just 75 years of it working, in my own experience. Saccharin will affect the alkalinity of the hair color. Sometimes causing it to be less irritating. Have you had success with it? Have you tried it? Let me know!
