Come join Gambit Fitness celebrate Mardi Gras with "St. Louis' Least Legitimate CrossFit Competition" but one that will guarantee you lots of fun!

A short, high-intensity competition set in the heart of St. Louis' Soulard Mardi Gras celebration. 5-6 strength and fitness-based events typically around 5 minutes in duration.
The competition takes place from 8AM - 1PM with the party going on until 4PM-ish. As an athlete or spectator, you can enjoy the Mardi Gras parade between events with food and beer included in your ticket price.

This is a partner competition. 3 divisions are available: Scaled, Intermediate and Rx.

Recommendations are simple. If you typically do not Rx your gym WOD, choose "Scaled". If you mostly Rx the gym WOD, except when the weight is very heavy and high-skill choose "Intermediate". If you always Rx your gym's WOD and sometimes choose the Rx+ option when available, choose Rx.

Our body’s ability to produce force is necessary for maximum quality of life when we are younger and as we age since strength will decrease over time.

Being strong helps you do cool things and allows you to do daily activities with ease in those years later in life!!

Yesterday we took on our version of the Individual Online Quarterfinal test 2.

Some did it as prescribed others used some modified movements/weights but either way we had some fun giving it a go!

The season always is a good motivator to get a bit more out of our comfort zone and try new things!

We love how welcoming our community is and it’s awesome to see a 22 year old high level competitor working out, motivating, and encouraging the 60 year old grandparent next to them in class!

Glassman said “The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree, not kind. One wants functional dominance to take home gold medals. The other wants functional competence to stay out of the nursing home.”

We want to be a place that challenges those that want to achieve the highest level of fitness possible, then do the same for all our members relative to their personal goals and current skill/fitness level. Then celebrate everyone’s success at meeting & exceeding those challenges!


Rope Climbs.

We like to use our entire body doing different things for our health and fitness!
Not everyone goes up the rope though. Plenty of folks choose different options (many ground based versions as well).
But if you want to learn the proper techniques so you can use fun/different tools/exercises to be healthy come check us out and let our experienced coaches doing stuff you didn’t think possible!!

A little midweek motivation to remind you that most things in your life are dictated by your daily actions.

If you want something prioritize it and go get it.

24 hours in a day, 7-8(or less) for sleeping, the 16-17+ hours of the day you get to decide how you spend them.

A lot of people think that CrossFit is only about intense challenging workouts, and although it’s true that we do enjoy very difficult tests if human performance; we like to focus on a few other things as well.

Learning how to use our body’s to coordinate high complex and dynamic movements that require mobility, strength, stability, , timing, balance, accuracy, power, and more is a BIG part of what we do.

Our Coaches teach highly complex movements, breaking them down piece by piece, and we give our members plenty of time to practice each piece of these movements (as well as the movements as a whole).

So when you come to it’s not going to be all about hammering you into the ground with crazy intense workouts everyday (although we will get after it pretty regularly!)

You will learn new exercises, learn new skills, get stronger, do very challenging workouts, do some long slow and steady workouts, meet like minded people, and you’ll learn how to have fun with your health and fitness!

A little tempo Front Squat work from the 5am group this morning!

We use tempos to regulate the amount of weight we’re lifting and help us fine tune our lifting form. When we slow it down and pause in the most challenging positions we can really fee anything that needs a bit more attention!

Also, time under tension is how strength is built. We can manipulate the amount of tension (weight) we use, or how long our muscles are under tension (tempo/pauses). We like to do both to keep the body guessing!!
