Soft Crochet Retwist On All Starter Locs .

Always soft & intentional, never tight needle work. This helps the loc mature faster while also allowing for it to naturally bud and expand. It also makes it easier for the client to wash at home without matting or tangling as well for the stylist to find the grid in tact for following retwists.

Here you can see the difference between immediately after the wash, on the left, and what her locs look like following a soft crochet retwist, on the left. Her locs still look like starter locs, they are still able to bud and expand naturally. However, with the crochet maintenance her locs will remain secure and separated from each other as she continues to wash at home.

She followed my recommendation to wash twice before her first retwist, making this her third wash 🧼
