Slow Down Sugar Scrubs

This has been the reminder sitting with me, heavy in my heart and mind. I’ve always been a “work for what you want” kind of girl - Pushing limits, exhausting myself until I get the results I am hoping for. All while I was trying to do it ALL, I felt like I had built an impossible equation. What I didn’t recognize is that two things can be true- Something can be good and be damaging. Something can grow yet take energy from other places. Something can feel so accomplishing, yet never be enough. I created that equation for myself of wanting to give 100% into a business that I didn’t have 100% to give. I started Slow Down Sugar Scrubs not just because I love making natural self care and bath products but because the thought of others giving themselves permission to slow down was so rewarding for me. Then, I was at a cross roads because all while I was pouring so much into it all, I was pouring it out of my own cup that didn’t have much in it at all. I would love to bury my head in the sand and believe it wasn’t hard, but that’s just not the truth. I couldn’t remember the last time I slowed down for myself. To do simply nothing or anything that I wanted to do for me felt almost challenging because I was so used to never stopping. So, here I am today, trusting that you all can still believe that we all deserve rest. We all deserve to implement rest into our routines - so much so that it no longer feels like a treat, but rather a normal healthy part of our day. I trust you can all do that, while I do it too. We all will have busy weeks or seasons, but don’t push yourself to burnout just because you know you’ll come back from it. Don’t push your mind and body to that place and I won’t either. I had to decide what is what I truly wanted, what was the most important and what did I need to give up. That leaves me with a simple “I am going to pause”, almost like a one way flight. I am not sure if or when I’ll be back, but I do know this: Instead of worrying about who you’ll let down or doing things because you feel like you have to, just unapologetically do what you want for your life and the rest will figure it all out for itself. || endless gratitude to you all.
