My story:

I started my career in my aunt’s salon around age 8 watching my aunt and grandmother perform their magical transformations on people. That is when I decided that I too wanted to join this amazing group of magicians. My dad didn’t want me to follow in the footsteps of my aunt and grandmother and persuaded me to attend college, which I did and studied business and psychology. Both areas have been very handy in the 22 years I’ve been in this industry. Since I’ve been a stylist, I have worked for upscale salons: Gene Juarez, Aveda Concept, and Angelo Mendi Del Solar. While working at Gene Juarez, I was part of a group that was sent to Italy to study techniques. At Angelo Mendi I was given a great opportunity to help build the curriculum and educate at the Angelo Mendi Salon Experience, their advanced training location. While educating at the advanced training salon I was recruited by a color line to educate for them and traveled the West coast from Blaine, Washington to San Diego, CA. I have had the privilege and experience in owning 2 salons. Now my journey has landed me at Ellis & Company. I am excited to reconnect with my friend/mentor for over 15 years, Melissa Ellis, owner of the salon. Her high energy and passion for this industry has always been an inspiration to me! While I am well versed in cutting all textures and lengths of hair, I specialize in excessively curly hair (takes one to know one), I use the shape of your face and bone structure to help create, sculpt, and customize your hair. I am certified in smoothing treatments that leave hair silky and shiny! I am always updated on current coloring trends and techniques such as Ombre, Balayage, Color Melt and custom blending. It has been my passion and pleasure devoting these last two decades to this amazing industry. As a stylist and former salon owner I continue growing my skills with ongoing education and marketing classes. Through honesty and excellence, I try to offer individualized attention and satisfaction, turning expectations into reality. I hope you give me the opportunity to serve you. My other passion is fitness, so in my downtime I have become a personal trainer and am a certified nutritionist from NASM. This keeps me not only motivated for my own physical well-being, it also provides my daughter with a good role model and I can motivate others from the inside out.
