I got to celebrate a few weeks ago back home in Reno. Mom and Michael planned an amazing party and it was soooo much fun being surrounded by my family and close friends!

We celebrated today with Pumpkin Spice Lattes (thank you Starbies!) and Mikey took me to the BEST crab dinner in Maryland! And this weekend I get a girls night out.

I sure feel blessed and loved! ❤️ Cheers to 40!

Bucket List Resturant!

I finally checked off eating at Old Ebbitt in Washington DC. Right outside the White House gates it’s the oldest saloon in DC. Many presidents are said to have frequented Old Ebbitt. Beautiful atmosphere.

Very delicious way to celebrate Hope and Joey’s anniversary and Maloree’s last day of being 6!

Last weekend our Armada left us stranded at the airport at midnight for more than the 10th time.

The Nissan dealership who just replaced our battery in December told us that we should have had a friend come start our car at the airport twice for the ONE week we were in Reno and left it at the airport. Not a good solution. 🤦🏻‍♀️😵‍💫

After 4 batteries in 5 years we decided to trade in the Armada (which I lovedddd) for a new Hyundai Palisade (after 3 full days of car shopping). And we LOVE it. So much technology and rides soooo smooth.

Today you would’ve been 67. Oh, how we miss you DK.

We spent the whole day talking about you and celebrating you.

We picked out flowers for you at Trader Joe’s, I wore Dodger Blue just for you, we ate at Sushi for dinner because you loved it, and we’re capping our night eating your favorite Peanut Butter Chocolate ice cream from Baskin Robbins.

Feels like torture celebrating with out you Daddy. 💙

“Goodbyes” in the military are always a hopeful “see you at another duty station.”

This one is hitting Team Meaux HARD. We haven’t lived near the Baileys since we left California in 2017. It was a huge blessing to find out we would be so close to them when we moved to Maryland.

But today was our hardest “see ya later.”
Not only am I losing a best friend but my kids are too. They are soooo attached to Miss Megan I thought they were going to hop in the car with them.

Thank you Baileys, and Megan, for all of our amazing adventures the last 13 months. It’s been a true blessing to be doing life with you. You helped us learn so much about city living and introduced us to so many cool places and restaurants. Megan you have the most generous, loving heart and everyone you cross paths with is lucky to know you.

Our favorite family vacation spot. We were there less than 2 days but enjoyed our favorite beach and 2 of our most favorite restaurants.

Look at that water, it was like six shades of blue. Isn’t it stunning?😍 The sand is different, the air is different, it’s our paradise.

Destin never disappoints. 💙

I thought it may be fun to (re)introduce myself, and share 10 things about me you may, or may not know.

My name is Ashlee Meaux and here’s some interesting facts:
1️⃣ I can’t tell the difference between different bottled waters. They all taste the freaking same to me. Don’t come at me, I know people get wild about their water.
2️⃣ I love cilantro and would eat it in everything if I could.
3️⃣ Michael and I dated for only 3 months and got engaged. We looked at rings after one month together. When ya know, ya know.
4️⃣ Somehow I became known for loving pickles and people send me and tag me in pickle things all the time
5️⃣ I was ADAMANTLY against homeschool and now I homeschool my 6 & 4 year old.
6️⃣ I sell makeup online and have for 6 years. I am proud to be a social seller and think it’s an incredible opportunity in the right situation. It is not for everyone but I have been immensely blessed by this business/industry.
7️⃣ As a kid I wanted to be an orthodontist because I heard my orthodontist tell someone he bought a boat and I wanted to buy a boat. Then I took biology in college and hated it so I became a high school teacher.
8️⃣ With my whole heart I believe EVERYTHING happens for a reason and is part our story in Gods eyes. Even the most devastating and difficult days are part of His ultimate plan. I believe we have been saved by Jesus and put my whole faith in him.
9️⃣ Grief is not something I want in my life but I have had to experience it manyyyy times over in my life. I like to talk about my grief as I feel like it helps me manage hurt that I feel.
🔟 Being a military spouse is something I walked in completely blind to. It’s not always easy but I 100% love it and love supporting my husband. It’s is a big part of our lives and I enjoy connecting with other military spouses.
*️⃣ Bonus fact: my last name, Meaux, rhymes with toe for those of you wondering how to pronounce it 😂 it’s not meow or me-ox.

Had the BEST visit with the BEST friends. This is what 20 years of friendship looks like and our 16th annual girls weekend.

Because of the huge storm in Aptos this year, we took our girls weekend to Apple Hill. Visited one of my favorite wineries and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. Thanks girls for the wonderful memories! 💗

I even got a visit with Kristin and stopped by to visit my dads grave.

Thank you to Michael for holding down the fort for 5 long days.
