Cynthia Griffin is a custom blend specialist. Credited to have done over 5,000 faces as a free-lance make-up artist, Cynthia created a line of cosmetics, specifically designed for women who can not find perfect color in the cosmetic industry. Cynthia previously free-lanced as a make-up artist for Fashion Fair, Ultima II, Princess Marcella Borghese, Flori Roberts, Iman,and Prescriptives. Cynthia developed Essential Cosmetics of Florida in November 1994, with her first successful make-up party being hosted by her sisters of the Churches of Christ in Bradenton, Florida...founded on faith, Cynthia became the first black owned business in the Desoto Square Mall in Bradenton, Florida in 1998. Cynthia created the Miss Black Florida-West Coast Pageant in 1997, which showcased regional contestants from Ft. Myers, and all cities north in the Tampa Bay area.The pageant, void of swim suit competition, show cased some of the best and brightest African American females in the region. Present day, and now known as Essentials of Florida, the business now resides in Tallahassee, Florida and a new division of RESTORATIVE COSMETICS http://essentialsofflorida-2016.ecrater.com/ has been created and designed for the African American funeral home industry, in which over 500 African American funeral homes nationally request Cynthia to create color perfected restorative cosmetic sets.She also has customers in Bermuda, West Africa and South Africa. Cynthia has also facilitated the class "Cosmetic Application & Technique at the Florida, Alabama, Tennessee, Buckeye, South Carolina, and Quad-State NFDMA state conventions and have presented the class at the National Funeral Directors & Morticians Association (NFDMA) National Conventions, consecutively, in 2007 (Philadelphia) and 20008 (Indianapolis). Cynthia has also been the principal make-up artist for movies made by graduates of the Florida State University film school. The 3rd most prominent film school in America. . Cynthia also taught a "make-up for television" class for the city of Sarasota, in which she custom blended cosmetics for television hosts from their sister cities, which included hosts from Israel,Russia,Canada, Dominican Republic, and other countries. it can be said that Cynthia has done make-overs on many nationalities. Cynthia Griffin was also the principal make-up artist for the infamous Bonner Brothers Hair Show(featured in the movie "Good Hair"), in 1996 when it was redirected to Orlando, Florida in order to accommodate the Olympics which was held in Atlanta at that time. Cynthia was the principle make-up artist for top stylists in the hair care industry during this show.
