Another well-deserved honor for Mrs. Cynthia S. Barber, who has served as our Chapter President. Congratulations!🎉
Team Tallahassee cheered on retired Deputy City Manager Cynthia S. Barber as she received the Who's Who in America's Neighborhoods Award, presented this week by Neighborhoods, USA (NUSA) at the annual conference.
This accolade recognizes individuals whose work exemplifies NUSA’s mission to build and strengthen neighborhood associations, encourage neighborhood involvement in local government decision-making, and promote productive communications and collaborations between neighborhood associations, local governments, and the public/private sector.
During her tenure as Deputy City Manager overseeing these efforts, the City expanded its programs and resources for neighborhoods, including its Neighborhood First planning process, Neighborhood PREP program for disaster preparedness, grants to support neighborhood projects, the Tallahassee Community Weekly newsletter and more. This recognition underscores the impactful work being done in Tallahassee and serves as an inspiration for continued community development efforts.
