Hair lately !

Death is an interesting thing, especially how it’s perceived and whether it’s a mercy to the person dying, or a painful detachment for the living and loved ones surrounding the dying person, or both. Last night at 2:25 am my grandmother Juliet Brownlee, passed away in hospice care at TMH. This is a sad time, but I’m also so thankful that she’s able to rest now, she wasn’t happy not being able to walk, and living in an assisted living facility, and then being in pain and not having food even taste good anymore. She was my sisters and I care taker when my parents were working or on some weekends etc. I learned about various things like how to shuck corn, to watching I love Lucy, to jumping in the lake they lived on and picking up clams in the dirt. All starting when I was around 5 years old. One of the best souls I have been honored to call my grandmother, as well as the woman I was named after. So many memories and I’m so thankful for them. Rest easy Nanny, you deserve happiness, and I will rejoice the wonderful full life you had and shared with us all.
