Happy Autism Awareness Day!! I am a proud mother of an autistic son. I've learned a lot from him. Being his mother has taught me to be an advocate for him and myself. He taught me that no matter what your circumstances. You can still keep a smile on your face.
My son is one of the most pure, innocent souls that I know. He's is in high school, so my advice to parents who are struggling with a diagnosis is to look at your child as a blessing and be as positive as possible about their future.
I used to think that I wasn't strong enough to handle my son's diagnosis. But I realized that god gave him to the right person because his dad and I will love and protect him forever. Stay strong fellow autism mom's and dad's! And any parent who has a child with a disability. Only we know our struggles, so please try to reach out to a fellow parent for support when needed!
