Some snack. I made tomato strawberry jam. With a lots of spare tomatoes, which were about to go bad, this jam is good for many treats.
First time at the CRUNCH facility in lakeland fl. Small but enough for a good workout.
# # Patience Is Key to Weight Loss - biblical viewpoint:
**“Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” — James 1:4**
Patience is one of the most important parts of a weight-loss journey. When we decide to lose weight, we often want to see results immediately. We become excited when the scale starts moving in the right direction, but when progress slows down, discouragement can quickly set in.
The Bible reminds us that **good things often require patience, perseverance, and faith**.
**“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9**
At the beginning of a weight-loss journey, you might celebrate, *“I lost 10 pounds!”* That excitement can give you motivation to keep going. But eventually, the weight may not come off as quickly. Early weight loss can include changes in the amount of water the body is holding. As your body adjusts to healthier eating and regular exercise, your progress may become slower.
This is when patience becomes especially important.
# # # Your Body Is a Gift From God
Scripture reminds us that our bodies should be treated with care and respect:
**“Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit... Therefore honor God with your bodies.” — 1 Corinthians 6:19–20**
Taking care of your body through nutritious food, physical activity, proper rest, and healthy habits can be viewed as an act of stewardship. The goal does not have to be simply becoming smaller or reaching a certain number on the scale. It can be about becoming healthier, stronger, and better able to care for the body God has given you.
# # # Don't Let a Plateau Make You Quit
There may come a time when the scale barely moves. You are exercising. You are trying to eat better. You are making sacrifices, yet the results seem slow.
Don't allow slow progress to convince you that your efforts are meaningless.
**“Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” — Romans 12:12**
Think about how long it may have taken to develop old habits or accumulate excess weight. Those changes did not happen overnight, so we should not expect everything to change overnight either.
God often teaches us through the process, not simply through the result.
# # # Discipline Is Part of the Journey
People who consistently exercise understand that physical fitness requires discipline. They continue showing up even when they don't feel motivated. Scripture uses this same picture of training and discipline:
**“Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training.” — 1 Corinthians 9:25**
Motivation may get you started, but discipline helps you continue.
Some days you will feel excited. Other days you may feel tired or discouraged. Your progress may be visible one week and difficult to see the next. But consistency matters.
**“I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” — Philippians 4:13**
# # # Give Yourself Grace
Your journey will not always be perfect. You may miss a workout. You may eat something you had planned to avoid. You may have a difficult week.
Don't allow one setback to become an excuse to give up.
**“Though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again.” — Proverbs 24:16**
Get back up. Pray. Refocus. Continue.
Remember that your worth is not determined by the number on a scale. Your health journey should not become a source of shame or condemnation. Instead, allow it to become an opportunity to practice patience, discipline, gratitude, and perseverance.
# # # Trust the Process—and Trust God
**“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” — Ecclesiastes 3:1**
There is a season for planting and a season for harvesting. In the same way, there is a season for putting in the work before seeing the results.
So when the scale doesn't move as quickly as you hoped, **don't give up**.
Keep exercising.
Keep making healthier choices.
Keep praying.
Keep showing up.
Keep trusting God.
Your journey is bigger than losing pounds. You are developing discipline, patience, perseverance, and healthier habits along the way.
**“But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” — Isaiah 40:31**
**Be patient with yourself. Be faithful in the process. Take care of the body God has entrusted to you, and remember: lasting change takes time.**
Weight-loss and patience
Patience is one of the most important keys to successful weight loss. When we decide to lose weight, many of us want to see results quickly. This can be true even when using medications designed to support weight reduction.
At the beginning of a weight-loss journey, the excitement can be motivating. You may step on the scale and celebrate, “I lost 10 pounds!” But as time passes, the weight may not come off as quickly. Early changes on the scale can partly reflect changes in body water, especially as diet and physical activity change.
As the body adjusts to a new exercise routine and eating habits, weight loss may slow down or reach a plateau. This is a normal part of the process. At this stage, losing additional weight may take more time, consistency, and patience.
Think about how long it took the body to accumulate excess weight. For many of us, it happened gradually—over months or even years of limited exercise, eating habits, and everyday routines. We cannot expect the body to reverse all of those changes overnight.
Yes, frustration can set in. There may be days when you exercise, make better food choices, and still don't see the number on the scale change. But the scale is not the only measure of progress. Increased strength, endurance, better-fitting clothes, improved mobility, and healthier habits are also meaningful signs that your efforts are working.
Think about the people who consistently go to the gym. They understand that fitness is a process. A strong, healthy, and fit body is built through repeated effort—not a few days or weeks of exercise.
**Be patient with the process. Stay consistent. Keep moving forward. Weight loss is not a race; it is a journey toward creating healthier habits that you can maintain for life.**

So I been doing the elliptical machine 5 days a week. I usually do 30 minutes intervals. However, it is hard some days. I am starting to break the cycle and do 2 15 minutes intervals, and some weight training in between overall do not want to spend more than 45 minutes at the gym.
The added benefit of elliptical is cardio and regulate blood pressure through the day.
As you age, especially when you hit 40, health concerns such as blood pressure is important to track. You body immune system starts slowing down. Especially if you have heart disease.
Now, say you don't do cardio, and you don't have time. I suggest you do stretching though the day. But nothing beats a 30 minute cardio sessions each day.

Elliptical vs. Treadmill machine, what is your preference?
It depends. If you are an active runner you would chose Treadmill. But if you are over 40, and not a runner, with underlying health concerns the elliptical may be the answer. Although author states burns 270 calories per 30 minutes, don't worry if you do less. Doing 150, 30- minute routine per day is equally well. The key is keep moving and produce some sweat.
On my next post we go more in depth on the elliptical machine and how it has benefit me.
Google summary:

They provide muscle and body conditioning. Moving the handlebars work your arms, chest, and shoulders while your legs power the pedals.
Targets glutes, hamstrings, quads, and calves. Reverse pedaling: Switching direction shifts the muscle focus to different parts of your legs and glutes.

So today was not a good day for me to cook. My mom had cooked ground beef and colorful beans, earlier. With that, I thought it was great to do a light taco salad. Did find these nacho chips at aldi's. What I liked about them - low in sodium and fat.
Ingredients:
Ground beef
Multi color beans
Nacho chips
Shredded Mexican cheese
Green Chinese onions
Warm everything in microwave for a minute, then add the following:
Tomato
Sour cream
Lettuce
What I liked about the meal is was fast to do, healthy, filling and no salty taste.
Hi, long time it's been. Today's post is reduced sodium, health Chinese rice with spare ribs. Enjoy.
