Sometimes the problem isn’t that you need a completely different haircut. It’s that the shape you have isn’t working for you anymore.

She wanted to keep growing her length, but her hair was feeling heavy and she wanted more movement, balance and layering.

So instead of taking off a lot of length, we changed the shape internally and added a soft sweeping bang.

This is why I ask so many questions before I start cutting. I want to know what isn’t working now, what you want your hair to do differently, and where you eventually want to go with it.

Because a good haircut shouldn’t just look good when you leave the salon. It should make sense for you and your hair.

Sometimes you don’t need a completely different hairstyle. You just need a haircut that works with your hair instead of against it.

For this cut, I removed some of the weight that was pulling everything down and reshaped it to let her natural wave and movement come through.

The result? More movement, better shape, and a haircut that’s easier to work with at home.

If you feel like you’re constantly fighting your hair, it might not be your styling routine or your products. It might be your haircut.

A good consultation is about so much more than “What are we doing today?”

Before I pick up my scissors, I want to know what’s actually going on with your hair.

What’s frustrating you?
What do you already love about it?
How much time do you realistically want to spend styling it?
And most importantly, what do you need your hair to do for your real life?

Because a haircut can look amazing when you leave the salon, but if you can’t make it work at home, we missed something.

And the consultation doesn’t have to be one-sided.

Ask questions. Tell your hairstylist what you struggle with at home. If you don’t know how to use a round brush, curl your hair, style your bangs, get volume, control frizz, or even which products to use, ask us to show you.

You’re not supposed to automatically know how to recreate what we do behind the chair. Part of my job is helping you understand how to work with your own hair.

The goal isn’t just great hair when you leave my chair.

It’s hair that works for you after you leave it.

Smoothing WITHOUT the damage

09/03/2026

Worried a smoothing treatment will damage your hair? That’s exactly why I chose Cezanne.

Not all keratin treatments work the same way.

Cezanne doesn’t break the bonds of the hair to permanently restructure it like a chemical relaxer or straightener. Instead, its low-pH formula works to smooth the hair while helping restore bonds in damaged hair and strengthen the hair strand.

The result? Less frizz, more shine and hair that’s much easier to manage.

But the treatment was only part of this transformation.

We also reshaped her haircut into a cleaner, more polished bob, removing the ends that needed to go and creating a shape that works with her beautiful natural grey hair.

Because sometimes the biggest difference isn’t one thing. It’s choosing the right treatment AND the right haircut for the hair in front of you.

Smoother. Shinier. Easier to manage. And a haircut that does some of the work for you.

I’ve used the words “starting over” a lot lately.

And when I was asked what I actually meant by that, I realized I didn’t really have a good answer.

I think I assumed starting over meant I was supposed to know what I was starting toward.

I don’t.

What I do know is that some of the things I’ve been doing aren’t working anymore. And I want something different.

So right now, starting over looks a lot like experimenting.

Learning social media. Putting myself out there. Trying things that make me uncomfortable. Figuring out what I’m good at, what I enjoy, what fits, and what doesn’t.

Some days I feel like I’m making progress. Other days I wonder what the hell I’m doing.

But maybe that’s what the middle looks like.

You don’t necessarily have the next chapter figured out. You just know you’re ready to turn the page.

And if you’re somewhere in that messy middle too, I have a feeling we’re not the only ones.

Your haircut should be doing some of the work for you.

She wanted low-maintenance, wash-and-go hair without sacrificing all of her length.

So instead of taking off a ton of hair, we strategically shifted some of the weight and created a shape that works better with her natural texture.

Because sometimes you don’t need a whole new haircut. You just need the right changes in the right places.

If you’re spending way too much time trying to make your hair behave, it might not be your styling routine, or your products. It might be your haircut.

A little asymmetry can make a big statement. ✂️

Short, textured, and intentionally uneven in all the right ways.

This is one of those cuts where the details make all the difference.

This was done with a combination of scissors and a razor.

Fine, thinning, color-treated hair can come with its own set of challenges, and I get this question a lot.

For her, I recommended a Cezanne Keratin Treatment + a good haircut.

The Cezanne helped smooth the frizz, add shine and make her hair more manageable, while the haircut removed those thin, wispy ends and gave her a stronger, fuller-looking shape.

But won’t a smoothing treatment make fine hair look flat?

Not necessarily. And this is a perfect example.

Cezanne is meant to reduce frizz and smooth the hair, but that doesn’t mean your hair has to end up pin-straight or plastered to your head.

When I’m working with fine or thinning hair, I take the amount of hair, the condition, texture, color history and the desired result into consideration.

It’s not a one-size-fits-all kind of thing.

Sometimes smoothing the frizz and getting the right haircut can actually make fine hair look fuller, healthier and more polished.

And I think these before & afters speak for themselves. ✨💛
