It is with a very heavy heart that I share some sad news with our Venus & Mars Day Spa family. Many of you knew and loved Agnes, our massage therapist whose kindness, strength, and gentle spirit touched so many lives. I learned today that she passed away in August after quietly battling a serious illness. She never spoke of the severity of what she was going through, and even in her hardest moments she continued to care for others with a smile.
During one of the most difficult chapters of my life — when the spa closed in 2020 and I wasn’t sure how I would keep going — Agnes was the one who stayed. When others had to make their own choices, she stood by my side. She worked tirelessly to help us take care of our members and our clients. She always told me, “Don’t worry, we’ll get through this,” and because of her strength, we did.
When we later moved to Salon Lofts, we rented spaces side by side, still supporting each other as we rebuilt our businesses. She brought so much comfort, hope, and healing to everyone she touched. I had no idea she was fighting cancer. She never complained. She simply kept showing up with grace.
I am deeply grateful — both as a friend and as a fellow therapist — for everything she did for me, for our spa, and for our clients. Her hands helped heal so many, and her heart helped carry me through one of the hardest times of my life.
To her clients who may be reading this: thank you for loving her and trusting her all these years. I know she meant a great deal to many of you.
Please keep her and her family in your thoughts.
