🌿 Kismet Meadows is back 🌿

Taking time away gave me space to slow down, learn, and reconnect—with the process and what matters most.

I’m starting back small with a few favorites, made with care and intention.

Thank you for being here 🤍

Picked up a spice today — one that’s more than just flavor.

This little pod is Achiote, also known as Annatto or the lipstick tree. Its bright red seeds have been used for centuries in Latin and Caribbean cooking, as a natural dye, and even for healing.

Planting it here at Kismet Meadows feels like planting a bit of heritage — color, purpose, and story in every seed. 🌺

Every time I plant something new here, I’m reminded that growth takes time — both in soil and in spirit.

This little Celeste fig, known as the “sugar fig,” is one of the sweetest and most reliable varieties for Florida. It thrives in sun, asks for little, and rewards patience with honey-like fruit.

It feels like the perfect symbol for this new season — quiet roots now, a beautiful harvest later.

🌿 Day 13 – Rooting Ourselves
Today I walked through St. Paul’s Cathedral.
It was beautiful… sacred… still.
And somewhere in that stillness,
I quietly let something go.

A story I’ve outgrown.
A wound I no longer wish to carry.

After that, we wandered through the world of Shakespeare,
and listened to Queen echo through the halls of history.
Powerful words. Powerful music.
Powerful reminder—
we get to choose what we carry,
and what we leave behind.

Healing can be quiet.
But it’s always real.

Rooting Ourselves – Day 9

Some days, rooting doesn’t feel calm. It feels like chaos, like overwhelm, like holding it all together by a thread.

Today feels like that.

I’m in the middle of everything.
Renting out the house I’ve lived in for 7 years.
Processing my daughter’s graduation.
Preparing to move in with my partner.
Leaving for London in less than 48 hours.
Sorting through old trauma that still flares up in the middle of big life change.

Honestly? I don’t know what to do with myself today.

It’s emotional whiplash. It’s beautiful and terrifying.
It’s growth—but it’s heavy.

But I keep reminding myself:
This is what transition looks like.
It’s not polished. It’s not graceful. It’s real.

And maybe, just maybe, this is what being rooted actually means—
Not holding it all together perfectly, but staying grounded in the storm.

If today feels like too much, you’re not alone.
We’re still rooting. Even here.

Rooting Ourselves – Day 8
Not everything needs to be shared. Not every moment needs to be explained.

Some healing happens in silence.
In space.
In the quiet decision to protect your peace—even when no one else understands why.

This past week reminded me how old pain can resurface in unexpected ways.
But instead of reacting, I chose to root deeper.
To sit with it.
To care for the parts of me that still needed tending.

If you’re doing that kind of quiet healing right now too—I see you.

Rooting Ourselves – Day 7
Some days, the most sacred thing you can do is be fully present.

Yesterday I didn’t post. I had planned to—but life had other plans.
I was deep in celebrating my daughter’s graduation.
A moment years in the making.
A moment that deserved my full presence, not just my words.

And that, too, is part of this journey.

Rooting ourselves isn’t just about stillness or quiet reflection.
It’s about knowing when to pause, when to celebrate, and when to let love take up all the space.

Yesterday, I was fully in it. Proud. Emotional. Grateful.
Rooted in legacy.
Rooted in love.

Because this journey I’m on—building this homestead, healing generational wounds, reclaiming peace—it’s for her.
It’s for both of us.

So today, I’m catching my breath and honoring the roots that come from showing up for the ones we love.
