PSA: You should be rinsing your shampoo out longer than you actually shampoo.

Most people spend 30 seconds shampooing… then 5 seconds rinsing. 🙈

But depending on:
• How thick your hair is
• How dense your hair is
• Your water pressure
• How much shampoo you used
…there’s a good chance you’re leaving product behind.

Leftover shampoo can weigh your hair down, make it feel dull, get greasy faster, and even contribute to scalp irritation.

My rule? Spend MORE time rinsing than you did lathering. Your scalp (and your hair) will thank you.

Sometimes it’s not your shampoo that’s the problem—it’s that it never fully left your hair. 💁🏼‍♀️

Being a hairstylist means you sign up for more than just doing hair. 😂

Today’s appointment included beautiful hair… lots of laughs… and a full-blown diaper blowout. 💩

No one panicked. We cleaned up, took care of baby, and got right back to creating gorgeous hair.

Honestly, these are the moments I love most. Real life happens in my chair. We celebrate big moments, vent about hard ones, hold babies, tell stories, and occasionally survive a diaper emergency together.

To all the moms who feel like they have to have it all together before treating themselves—you don’t. Bring the baby(as long as they aren’t a screamer😅), we can make it work. Bring the snacks. Bring the chaos.

One day I’ll figure this out. A part of me hates it, a part of me enjoys it. It’s another way for me to show who I am as a person and as a hairstylist. It doesn’t need to be perfect. The right people will end up in my chair. Always trying to get to the best version.

The magic of a refresh ✨

These are longer appointment. This client has two rows and also we fill her in on the sides with ktips. She was with me from 9-1:30pm. We did zero highlighting. Added lowlights and glazed to neutralize warmth and fading.

The color is important. The extensions are important. But the relationship matters just as much.

I genuinely love hearing about my clients’ lives. The wins, the struggles, the random stories, the updates from the last appointment… it all matters to me.

Sometimes you need advice. Sometimes you just need someone to listen while you sit in the chair for a few hours. Either way, you’re getting a real human—not a robot just trying to get through the appointment.

Beautiful hair is what you leave with. Hopefully feeling seen is too. 🤍 Always grateful for the relationships I’ve had for years.
