11/4 UPDATE POST HURRICANE HELENE

Thank you EVERYONE for continuing to support us over the past month and a half. We wanted to update you on the latest for the salon.

Unfortunately our neighbor abandoned their business after the 3 feet of standing water post Hurricane Helene. I found out I had very little water damage (to the walls) due to my immediate, extensive cleanup to my business The only exception is the wall I share with the tenant that completely neglected business for over 30 days. Her lack of attention to her property is now causing more time, money + work on my behalf.

We now have to completely rip out 4 feet of the wall and re-paint. Except I didn’t choose just basic paint. I chose a method of texture for my walls which is both expensive + time consuming.

We are replacing the floors and I am responsible for the materials as we refuse to have laminate laid again (how we received it). I will be having tile installed throughout the entire salon— meaning waterproof flooring.

You really do not realize the damage water can do to your business. We have since ordered all new bases to our styling chairs (the were rusting inside the hydraulics + stiff when we would go to swivel)

We plan to replace our refrigerator + stackable washer and dryer in the coming weeks due to it being plugged in and water flooding essential parts of both appliances.

We lost many other things but with time we will have them all replaced.
