I started lifting at 12 years old, at 37 next month, I remember the excitement and nervous feelings I had when I went to the gym as a kid. I didn’t know that this would be my life at some point. What I did know is that I enjoyed going to the gym and I especially loved learning about it all. In high school I started lifting in the weight training program they offered as an elective. I remember how much more I paid attention to these lessons and information than my other subject in school lol.
I didn’t have the same passion for learning as I do now, but I was fully prepared to dive into this world and fully engage with this lifestyle.
After high school, I joined the military and still had my aspirations to bodybuild. I would spend hours in my dorm room on the old bodybuilding.com website and the forums to learn. I would create my own meal plans, prep my food in my dorm room (I had a George Forman grill lol) and went to the gym to train for aesthetics. I remember looking over the pictures and routines of the pros, watching Ronnie Coleman train, Branch Warren, Jay Cutler, you name it and I was about it.
Now, as a Coach in lifestyle changes and competition prep, I am fully engulfed into this world. If I were to show the 12 year old Jerad what I did and have accomplished, I know he would be proud of me. Because, I am.
Bodybuilding isn’t a sport for everyone, and that is just fine. For me, it’s my world. It’s what I have worked my entire life chasing. Will I ever go pro? Thats the plan and I know that I will continue to pursue my dreams and ambitions. This is what I have and continue to do for my career and I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world. A special thanks to all my clients/friends that have supported me in this path. Without you, I wouldn’t be given an opportunity to show you this world. So thank you for your dedication, trust and loyalty.

As a cream of rice consumer, I like to also save money where I can. This is one way I do so. I buy, in bulk, COR at Indian markets. These 4 lb bags code $6 per. That’s it… you can have your pricey stuff if you want, but this is just the same thing without the name branding. JS 💁‍♀️

I’m m actually lighter in the pic on the left!

This is where I’m officially sitting at a flat 194.5 lbs fasted. 3 years ago I had more to lose. My stage weight was only ~174 lbs making me the bottom of my weight class in light heavyweight.

This year it’s so different.

I’d be happy to pull off another 5-6 lbs and see what that looks like and then full@out from there. This is the day before I do a mock show day and carb up. My plan is to manipulate water and sodium and do ~300g carbs today. Then tomorrow I’m going to do another 300 before 1030am and see what I look like filled out a tad and make adjustments from there for the real deal on July 18th. IFBB Pro Ty Pope
