As I reflect on the passing of my dear friend and client, Jane Tawney, who left us last night, I’m reminded that a career spanning 23 years comes with its share of precious moments and memories. When Jane first walked into Cimino’s, where I was starting my journey as a stylist, little did I know that our paths would converge in a way that would bless my life for two decades. With a picture of Reba McIntyre’s iconic hairstyle in her hand, she challenged me to bring her vision to life. Though I was still honing my craft, I accepted the challenge, and that moment marked the beginning of an extraordinary friendship. Jane’s entrepreneurial spirit, exemplified by her thriving ice was truly inspiring. She and her husband worked tirelessly, and their success was a testament to their dedication. One of the things that drew us together was our shared understanding of the value of hard work and determination. Jane’s generosity knew no bounds, and her love for Christmas was contagious. Every year, Sebastian and I would be overwhelmed by her thoughtful gift baskets filled with goodies and gift cards. It’s fitting that she chose to leave us just before her favorite holiday, leaving us with cherished memories of joy and laughter. As I bid farewell to my dear friend, I take comfort in the knowledge that her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched. Rest in peace, dear Jane.
