Made with local, seasonal, bioregional herbs gathered by hand on our northern New Mexico land, this aromatic body oil brings the restorative character of the high desert to your daily care ritual. Each small batch is slowly infused to soften and nourish skin while offering a grounding botanical experience.

Slowly infused into jojoba and sunflower oils, these desert and mountain botanicals create a deeply nourishing, aromatic oil rooted in the character of the high desert.

Our jojoba oil comes from an Arizona farmers’ cooperative, while our sunflower oil is grown and produced in Colorado—keeping each ingredient close to home and rooted in the Southwest.

We brought home a traditional Mongolian yurt for our little patch of high desert, and we’re so excited to give our family a bit more room to grow, gather, make, and dream.

We will be offering incense this holiday season. Made exclusively from resin, roots, wood, bark & needles from our northern NM homestead.

Incense in the making. We spent the day foraging sage, tree resin, needles & wood for making incense. We will have individual scents for big sagebrush, Douglas fir, piñon, juniper & cedar as well as a few blends.

Our piñon tallow is special to me. My children often bring me gifts of piñon resin they find while playing in the woods. I crush the piñon resin and mix it with tallow and it is slow infused over a few weeks and sometimes even months. This batch of piñon tallow also has piñon infused oil. We infused sticky sappy green piñon cones and piñon needles in avocado oil all summer. This solar infused oil is supercharge from the sun! I have a few more jars of piñon tallow left from my last product release. Every batch is one of a kind.

Umi tallow is my favorite product I have ever created. I have sold tallow for YEARS however my products and philosophy has change a lot over the years. I stopped making product when we moved to our homestead 2.5 years ago. Moving off grid and living off the land really changes your perspective on life.

When i relaunched and rebranded Umicare I wanted the focus to be seasonal and local ingredients that I personally have an experience with. I stopped using essential oils in my tallow and now slowly infuse herbs and resins foraged from my land either in the sun in the summer or by my woodstove in the winter. The process takes days to weeks and I often work with the cycle of the moon. I have a relationship with the plants I work with and I have met the cows that give their lives to sustain us and provide us suet for the tallow.

I forage and pick herbs with my children and teach them of their magick and secrets. They often bring me bundles of yarrow and empty their pockets full of piñon resins at the end of the day.

The umi tallow is made from wildflowers I collect throughout the summer. It takes me all summer as the flowers blossom and bloom at different times. The process is slow and long.

My brand represents my life I no longer live a fast paced life but I now live a slow intentional life in tune with nature. My products are seasonal and capture all the magick and love that is put into them. I see many people selling tallow these days but I think what sets us apart is the relationship and intention I put into each product.
