A little Foilyage action was needed to brighten up & cool down this beautiful head of hair. 🌟❄️ We went really sloooowwww & used the most gentle possible products to achieve these results considering this was her first time in my chair. All clean & transformed back to the "normal" salon from the fun holiday madness. Taking down decor was more extensive this time around, so I was super happy to have my mini assistant & husband there to help me. This was actually how we spent part of our New Year's Day together, if you can believe it or not! When you own a business, there really aren't any days off & I'm just so thankful to have my family who fully supports & backs me 100%. Even if that means spending time to deep clean the salon after hours on a holiday. 🙏❤️💇‍♀️

✨️ 2 0 2 2 ! What a year! ✨️

☆ I made a HUGE move & relocated my business 40 miles north after 18 years of being in the same city.

☆ I had a big influx of clients who graced my chair, making wonderful new connections with.

☆ There were weddings & special events I was honored to be a part of.

☆ There was sickness & loss between myself & my guests, making things difficult for all.

☆ My IG & FB page I created during the pandemic has grown & doubled in followers since May of this year & I am quite proud of that progress!

☆ I finally made the switch to online booking, creating healthier boundaries within my business, making everything easier to navigate for everyone!

Happy ! Did you know I only heat style my hair ONCE per wash?! And I can usually go 4- 5 days between washings! 🤯 How does my hairstyle stay looking great? Well, it starts with these 3 tips right here! 👇

✨️1. Heat protection w/ added memory lock-
Thermashape Hot Flex Spray has been my go-to heat styling spray for over 15 years now. Why is it so so special? Besides protecting the hair up to 450°F, it contains a special melting polymer that melts with heat & solidifies when cooled down. Giving your hair the best styling memory without feeling crunchy or leaving your tress heavy.

✨️2. Quality tools matter! I never quite understood all the hype over different irons. Like a curling iron is just a curling iron, right? WRONG! I have seen such a difference in my own hair since switching solely to tools. Why, you ask? has created "Moisturizing Heat Technology" which is built into the barrels of the iron. It basically micronizes water molecules so that moisture can pe*****te the hair, leaving your hair more conditioned, making those curls last even longer.

✨️ 3. Invest in a good, tight- fitting, shower cap. I hadn't used one for YEARS thinking "oh I'll just clip up my & avoid getting my it wet when I shower." Yeah, that never worked out well. My hairline, especially kept getting damp no matter how hard I tried to avoid it. That led me to have to re- dry (& re- curl) those front & underneath strands causing more stress on my fragile hair than it could handle. So I finally bought this nice, leopard print cap, & now my hair stays completely dry & EXACTLY how I styled it in the first place!

Happy ? Is that even a thing?! Well, it is now! Let's go over some of the top 5️⃣ myths I hear constantly behind the chair.

1️⃣Coconut Oil is great for your hair. Sure, if applied as a conditioner on the surface, it can make it seem shiny or silkier. But the cold hard truth is that if you regularly use coconut oil, it can actually be blocking other necessary conditioning agents, like bond building keratin treatments, from being able to pe*****te the hair shaft at all. I say leave this oil in the kitchen where it belongs.

2️⃣Extensions damage hair. NOT! People damage their hair by not properly caring for their extensions or by not properly installing them. It's so important to find a seasoned extension specialist & LISTEN to every little thing they say about home care. In fact, most of my clients have found extensions to actually help GROW their natural hair since the extensions seem to protect!

3️⃣Buying professional products through an illegitimate place is NEVER good. And I'm talking Target, Ross, Grocery Stores, etc. Unless you are buying these items through a salon, beauty supply, etc., you have the potential to purchase COUNTERFEIT PRODUCT. Nothing is guaranteed unless it's bought from an authorized retailer. Those stores I listed & more are not supposed to be selling professional grade products. It's a little thing called diversion, but it's a huge issue in our industry. Also, don't you want to support your local stylist with buying product from them directly anyhow?

4️⃣Sleeping with wet hair is ok, right? Eh, it's not the worst thing to happen to your hair.... and not a big issue if your hair isn't over processed & healthy. BUT it can be a BIG problem for those of you who have chemically-treated hair, super blonde locks, or just prone to hair breakage. And if you have extensions, it's just a big no- no! Basically, your hair is way more fragile when it's wet & all that tossing & turning on your pillow can create a great amount of friction & stress on the hair strands causing major breakage. Grab a silk pillowcase & dry those strands before bedtime to ensure the healthiest of manes!

5️⃣"I didn't wash my hair for 3 weeks so it would be nice & dirty for this updo you're about to do." 🤢 Listen, some people can go a VERY long time between hair washes, & I am not one to judge. Everyone's hair & sebaceous glands work differently & that's pretty cool! I'm talking about the people who are planning to get a special style done & they KNOW their hair can't go that long between washings. But they still come in with the most greasy, flakey, smelly hair that's almost impossible to work with. There is only so much dry shampoo can do! And honestly, it's probably not their fault.... they just didn't know better! But really, your hair DOESN'T have to be THAT dirty. DAY OLD hair is just fine! Clean hair is also great! And if we need to make it "dirtier," I promise you I have the products to do so!
