I’m a behind the scenes girlie 🙋🏽‍♀️

One of my goals this year is to speak more 😅 I’m good 1:1 but in a small group, I’m just chilling & observing.

Words are so powerful and I’ve always said I’m shy, but that’s not necessarily the case. Now I’m going to say, “Sure, I’ll take that opportunity, I love to speak.”

Is it fear or anxiety? They feel the same, but they aren’t. People only do things because they feel like it. So how do I feel like doing the things that I don’t want to do?

Focused thoughts make a framework for belief. So if I believe I can speak in front of 100 people, I am anticipating the event. Now if I don’t have the focus and have the feeling of doubt that I can’t do it, it turns to anxiety.

Fear is caution over a real and present danger. Anxiety is caution over a future imagined danger. It cannot serve you and is a thief of your dreams. It robs you of the energy you produce.

The bigger the goals I have, the more work behind that goal is required. I’ve been blessed to start my business from scratch with every move I’ve made (6 times including cross country!) using different strategies and tweaking my approach to find out the best way to reach my goal which ultimately was getting more of my target clients in my chair. Simply put, it’s still my main objective, pairing my target market with my product.

I quickly learned that if I want to change the trajectory of where I am today to where I want to be, I can’t be the only one hustling. I need to rely on others. By having someone in place to help with the leg work left me with more time to focus on strategy and ex*****on.

Someone to help me answer messages, to post for me on social media, to help build a website, to help with my branding, etc.

This applies both in my business currently and when I was working behind the chair. I spent months building a website from scratch. Sure, I learned a new skill and it came out pretty dang good, but the countless hours of research and testing with a lot of errors was precious time wasted. I could have hired someone to do it in a quarter of the time leaving me with the energy to devote to my business in another area.

So, what would be your first hire? What do you need help with? What could grow your business this year?

You need to understand that time is valuable and you have to utilize it appropriately to really gain control of your business.

What an amazing year! Building Peace Hair Co. has been so rewarding from the friendships I’ve built to the knowledge of growing our operations. We went from 50k revenue to 500k revenue in a year and I couldn’t have done it without my team. I’m excited to share on my page how we grew and how I used the same principles of building my business behind the chair and applied them to create a successful brand.

Thank you to my team for seeing my vision of what we could achieve and my wild ideas to get there 🫶🏼
