You may have noticed I’ve been talking about grey hair a little more lately. 👀

That’s intentional.

I’ve become really interested in helping women figure out what they want to do with their grey.

Not because I think everyone should embrace it.

And not because I think everyone should cover it.

But because I think we should have OPTIONS.

Cover it.

Blend it.

Transition away from color.

Keep some of it and cover the rest.

There isn’t one right answer.

And honestly, I think that’s what I enjoy most about it.

It’s not just about putting color on someone’s hair.

It’s about helping them figure out what makes sense for THEM.

I’m excited to keep learning more about this and getting even better at it. 🤓🤍

A few goals for our first appointment together…
1️⃣Match the bottom to the top.
My client unknowingly had been receiving a partial highlight over and over. Her top was drastically lighter than under which made her hair not blend and look very unnatural.
2️⃣Blend grey.
My client had went months without color already so we decided to strive for a more natural grow out rather than bring back the harsh line.
3️⃣Look 🔥 HOT 🔥 for her 50th class reunion!!

How long does my hair need to be for sugaring? 🤔

Think about trying to pick up a tiny piece of lint.

If it’s big enough, easy.

If it’s microscopic…

Good luck. 😂

The sugar needs enough hair to grab onto in order to remove it effectively.

So if you’ve been shaving, let it grow out a little before your appointment.

No need to grow a forest…

But give me something to work with. 😂🍯

Why does my stylist need to know what I did to my hair THREE YEARS AGO? 😂

Because hair has a history.

Think about repainting an old piece of furniture.

What’s underneath matters.

Old stain.

Paint.

Damage.

Repairs.

Your hair is the same.

That “one time” you colored it dark?

Yeah…

Sometimes that still matters. 🤓

Hairstylist confession…

I don’t always know exactly what I’m going to say when I start explaining something.

😂😂😂

I know what I’m doing.

I know WHY I’m doing it.

But sometimes the words come out like…

“Okay, so basically your hair is like a towel…”

And then suddenly I’m using a completely random household object to explain hair chemistry. 🤓😂

Apparently that’s just how my brain works.

But honestly?

If I can explain something in a way that makes you go, “OH! Now I get it!”

Then I’ve done my job.

So don’t be surprised if your next hair appointment includes an unexpected science lesson involving a sponge, a towel, or a piece of fabric. 😂

Why can’t I go blonde in one appointment? 🤔

Think about a dark wall.

You can paint it white, but it may take several coats to completely cover the dark color underneath.

Hair is similar.

The darker the starting point, the more pigment we have to lift through.

The difference?

A wall doesn’t get damaged when you add another coat of paint. 😂

Hair can.

So sometimes getting you lighter is easy.

Sometimes it’s a process.

The goal is blonde hair…

that stays on your head. 😂🤍

Why is grey hair so stubborn? ⚪️

Because not all grey hair behaves the same.

Think about coloring a soft cotton shirt vs. a thick canvas bag.

Same color.

Different material.

Some grey hair is soft and takes color beautifully.

Other grey hair is coarse and resistant.

So when your friend gets perfect coverage with one formula…

That doesn’t necessarily mean the same formula will work on you.

Hair likes to keep us humble. 😂🤓

Why do I need to let my hair grow before my first sugaring appointment? 🪒➡️🌱

Think about pulling a w**d.

If it’s barely sticking out of the ground…

You don’t have much to grab.

Sugaring is the same.

The hair needs enough length for the sugar to catch it and remove it.

So yes…

Put the razor down. 😂

Just long enough for me to have something to work with! 🤓

Why does my color fade so fast? 🎨🚿

Think about trying to fill a sponge with holes.

You can put water in…

But some of it will eventually find its way back out.

Porous or damaged hair can have a harder time holding onto color too.

So sometimes your hair isn’t “rejecting” the color.

It just can’t hold onto it as long.
