My POV: so here is why I ask questions during your massage … client comes in and I have read intake form , she says nothing is wrong I just want to experience a nice relaxing massage . Turn said client and I step back and take a deep breath and examine what I’m working with. And I say ma’am, what is going on back here? Then I learn so many things lol . We finish I take some after photos and explain to her this is what your back should look like 🙌🏽
Before photos : left hip is elevated , spine is so crooked left scapula elevated! And an hour later ……. Our spine is sooooo much straighter and our hip is back down and scapulas are symmetric …

🌿🧠 THE SCIENCE BEHIND SLOW, INTENTIONAL MASSAGE 🧠🌿
Just because I’m moving slowly doesn’t mean I’m not doing deep work.
In fact, sometimes the most effective techniques are the ones you barely notice happening.
Let me explain WHY. 👇
💚 1. YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM CONTROLS MORE THAN YOU REALIZE.
Your muscles and nervous system are constantly communicating.
When your body perceives pain, stress, or a potential threat, it may respond with increased muscle tension and protective guarding.
Slow, deliberate massage can provide calming sensory input that helps reduce the perception of threat and encourages relaxation.
✨ Sometimes, before we can address the tension, we need to help the nervous system feel safe enough to relax.
💚 2. YOUR FASCIA IS MORE THAN JUST CONNECTIVE TISSUE.
Fascia is a continuous network of connective tissue that surrounds and supports your muscles, nerves, blood vessels, and other structures.
It’s rich in sensory receptors and plays an important role in how your body senses movement and position.
Slow, sustained pressure may help improve comfort and movement tolerance in areas that feel restricted.
✨ The goal isn’t to force tissue to release. It’s to work with the body’s response.
💚 3. DEEP TISSUE DOES NOT MEAN MAXIMUM PRESSURE.
This is one of the biggest misconceptions about massage therapy!
Effective deep tissue work requires:
✔️ Knowledge of anatomy
✔️ Precise placement of pressure
✔️ Understanding muscle fiber direction
✔️ Awareness of surrounding nerves and structures
✔️ Continuous assessment of tissue response
✔️ Communication with the client
Excessive pressure can actually cause discomfort and protective muscle guarding.
✨ It’s not about how HARD I work. It’s about how INTENTIONALLY I work.
💚 4. SLOW WORK GIVES ME TIME TO LISTEN WITH MY HANDS.
Your body provides valuable information through tissue texture, tenderness, muscle tone, and movement restrictions.
By slowing down, I can better assess how an area responds to pressure and adjust my technique accordingly.
Not every tight muscle needs aggressive pressure.
Not every painful area is the source of the problem.
And not every body needs the same treatment.
✨ Precision over pressure. Quality over quantity. Intention over routine.
💚 5. THE GOAL ISN’T JUST RELAXATION. IT’S BETTER FUNCTION.
Therapeutic massage may help:
🌿 Reduce perceived muscle tension
🌿 Improve short-term flexibility and range of motion
🌿 Ease certain types of musculoskeletal discomfort
🌿 Encourage relaxation
🌿 Improve body awareness
🌿 Support overall physical well-being
Results vary, and meaningful progress sometimes requires more than one approach.
🤎 HERE’S WHAT I WANT MY CLIENTS TO UNDERSTAND…
When my hands slow down, there’s a reason.
When I pause over a particular muscle, there’s a reason.
When I change my angle, adjust my pressure, or spend extra time in one area, there’s a reason.
I’m not just following a routine. I’m responding to YOUR body.
Because I believe therapeutic massage should be thoughtful, intentional, and individualized.
Your body deserves more than someone simply going through the motions.
It deserves someone who pays attention.

I always post my girls on here so today was a very challenging day for me . I had three men and one female but she is a workout all in her own so she fits in this category lol . Today I was expecting my regular client and her husband was having back pain , she was so kind hearted to give her spot to him . Let me tell you when I got him flipped over I was like oh what has happened here . 😳😳😳😳 but after I was done that back smoothed down sooooooo much even shocked me ! We have a lot of work to do cause you can’t work miracles in one session but you know I’m an over achiever so best believe I gave my best shot at it !!! Very pleased looking back at the photos 🙌🏽🙌🏽 hope he feels much better

Today my client came in with lots of tension carried in her neck and mid back . As you can see in the picture before very tight and tense from how narrow her back looks . Look how wide we was able to relax her today . Hope she left all that tension on my table and left a bit lighter 🧶🙌🏽

Your body tells a story before you ever say a word. 🤎
Before I even ask, “Where are you hurting?” I’m already paying attention.
I’m looking at how your shoulders rest.
How your neck is positioned.
Where one side sits differently from the other.
Where your body appears to be guarding, compensating, or holding tension.
Because tension doesn’t always stay where you feel the pain.
Our bodies adapt to stress, repetitive movement, old injuries, long workdays, workouts, posture, and everyday life. Over time, those patterns can become the way we naturally hold ourselves—and sometimes we don’t realize how much tension we’re carrying until we finally let it go.
These before-and-after photos were taken during the same massage session. ❤️
Massage isn’t just about making sore muscles feel good for an hour. My goal is to listen to what your body is showing me, work with those patterns, and help your body find a place where it doesn’t have to work quite so hard.
Sometimes your body has been asking for help long before you realized it.
✨ Release the tension.
✨ Restore movement.
✨ Give your body permission to let go.
